Seize the Birthday - Rainbows

Hey Gang, It is time for another challenge at Seize the Birthday!  This is the third one for this month and it will be for two weeks, as always.  Boy, this summer is going fast and  soon school will be back if not already.  So lets get to it, we have a topping with this challenge.
Our "Toppings" option this time is..Strips
If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

I have to tell you that this card was sort of an accident.  I made the rainbow panel and stamped the flowers and sentiment on it.  Then let it lay on my workbench.  I got another idea to make a rainbow of colored hearts, and after doing that, it just fell on the top of the first card and I loved it.  This is what I went with.
Suppies to make this card: Watercolors, GKD a Year of Flowers 3, Stately Flowers 8 for the sentiment and Simon Says die, Heart Parade

I hope to see you on the blog this challenge and I do appreciate your wonderful comments.

Creative Confetti - Get in Shape

This is the last challenge for this month at Creative Confetti.  There was a different suggestion each week and they all when into one monthly challenge.  I entered every week!  Just because I love to color the images that Marcie designs and the team certainly challenged me.  How about you?
There is still time to enter.  For this week we are to put a shape into our card.  Julie describes how to do that with the digital images.  You can see that Here.
I did do a digital image and the sentiment as well, but I think my method was a bit different from Julie's, but it worked.  Not telling you how I did mine.  But it did involve a digital eraser.  Lol
Ok, enough talk here is my card.
I printed the digital Geraniums and used the sentiment from Flower Bomb.  I hand drew in the border on the rectangle shape.  Since I got this to work quite quickly, I didn't want to take a chance on losing it.
Using my favorite Copic markers for pinks and greens, I began to color it.  I took me an hour of fun and relaxing to complete it.  Then I added it to a base of GKD Fresh Asparagus cardstock and a border that a friend sent to me.  It was the outtake from a PTI die.  I use everything.  A bit of gold GKD cord on the side.  I used the techniques that I learned from taking the Kit and Clowder classes.
Thanks for stopping by, I love your comments and appreciate them.

Creative Confetti

I'm catching up here with the fun at Power Poppy.
Creative confetti is a new challenge that will last for a month and each week,
there will be a different challenge.
The first week was You're a Gem, let the color of your birthstone inspire your next creation.
I just had a birthday and for the month of August the birthstone is Peridot.

Image result for peridot stone

Here is my card inspired totally by the peridot.
I printed out this digital Sunflower Power stamp on my laser jet printer.  That means that I can send it through a laminator and use foil on it.  That is just what I did using green foil. Then I stayed in the monotone and colored it with green markers like my Peridot. I die cut some frames and a Lattice edger to add to the front panel.

Here you can see some of the shine. This baby shines like the gemstone that it was inspired by.
I will be entering this in the Creative Confetti - You're a Gem.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.  I do appreciate that very much.

Creative Confetti - Back to School

Dig into your kiddo's school supplies and use at least 3 items on your card.  That is the challenge for this week.  And here we go.  My kiddos are grown and don't live at home anymore.  But I do have two grandchildren that live close and I keep a drawer of crafting supplies for them at my house.  I flew over to the drawer and pulled out some things that may help me on this one.
I found a pack of papers and I pulled out the one that you see here.
I used the frame from the top of the sheet.
These are the other supplies that I used on this card.  Markers, Gell pens, and water color paints.
Here is what I got!
I stamped the Short Stacks on to watercolor paper and colored it with the markers, and watercolor paints.  Then used the gel pens to color the designs on each cup.  They really sparkle, wish you could see it in the picture.  I may have found a new media.  A border of blue that matches the base and a few pearls from my stash finished the project.
I am entering this in the New Power Poppy Creative Confetti - Back to School challenge

Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

This is the second challenge in the month of August, it is for two weeks, that means there will be another one this month. What fun, three times to create for us this month.

Here is my card, it is fun to just go with anything that you that you want.
I got a new embossing folder and it was what I started with for this card.  It is the Sizzix 3-D Botanical.  After embossing it, I ran a Tourquise Sea ink pad over it.  Then die cut some flowers and leaves from the Stamp up Botanical Builder in Vellum and silver papers.
The sentiment is from two different sets, GKD Stately Flowers and MFT Adorable Elephants. Heat embossed on a vellum tag.  I added a matching envelope from GKD and finished the inside too.  I should have taken a picture of that. I had extra flowers and leaves that I didn't want to waste.

Creative Confetti - Get that Glow

Ally Cope shared a video on how to add sunshine to your coloring.  She did the Hellebore & Hyacinth stamp set and I did the XL Tiger Lily.  I searched the internet for different colors and found one that I liked in violets and did this one.
I was really surprised at how much sun I got to reflect off of these petals.
Here is how Ally Cope did it.
I used the XL Tiger Lily and the sentiment is from Power Poppy stamp, called Simply Camellias.
I sure like the font.
The Copic colors are V01, V04, V05, V06, C7, C5 and for the leaves YG67, YG63 and C7.
I am entering this in the challenge this week at Power and Poppy called Creative Confetti

This is just a quick post today and I thank you for stopping in, I appreciate your comments.

Double D Challenge - Moon and Stars

We are half way through August and soon all of the kids/grandkids will be going back to school.  Boy, how this summer has gone by so fast.  I feel like I was back in school and dreading the start of the new school year.  I guess that means that this summer has been busy and we have had a lot of fun.

I sure hope that you have some time for this challenge as it was a fun one and there is a prize as always.  The mood board for this one is fabulous and I took my inspiration from the upper left panel.
I started with a Sue Wilson Die, Australian Collection background.  This was actually for another card that I ended up not using.  On the front panel, I used Distress Ink in Salty Ocean and Black Soot to make my night sky.  Then I used two stencils that I had with GKD white ink to add the moon and the stars.  The Stencil for the stars was one that I made a while ago on my Cameo.

This little fairy is from My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Fairy Girl.  I colored her up and used pop dots to add her to the front of the card.  All of the stars have Wink Of Stella on them along with her wings. Another fun and easy card to make.  It will go in my stash for a future birthday card.
Here is the prize for this challenge.

Be sure to check out the other Design Team blogs to see that they have done for your inspiration.
Thanks for your comments, they sure do make my day. Enjoy!

Power and Spark Challenge August

Wow, when they took off the lid on this Power and Spark inspiration was a doozer.  I really had to think about this one.  But I finally got something that I want to share with you.

We are to make a project that is inspired by a favorite corner in your home.   It did not take long to know what corner that I wanted to do, but it was hard to find a stamp to convey it. I will let you be the judge on this one.
Here is a corner of our family room where you will find us every fall Sunday watching Football.
Go Packers!  Oops, I am digressing again. Was I yelling?  Sorry!
Here is that corner.

I decided to be inspired by the soothing colors of the wall,
white roses and the plate and candle.
Here is my card
That gray-blue was hard to copy, but I got close.
Supplies:
Charcoal Brown card stock from GKD
Flower Bomb from Power Poppy a digital stamp
Frantic Stamper stitched rectangles die
Die-Namics Hello die
Copic marker and white Prismacolor pencil
Wink of Stella
Partial die cutting with a Spellbinder scalloped circle die, then I fussy cut the rest of the image.

Hope that you like this, I am pretty Ok with it.  It will be entered in the Power and Spark Challenge for August.
Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate your comments!

Seize the Birthday - Water

Here it is the month of August,  and it is time for another two-week challenge at
Seize the Birthday!
This time there is a topping and it is Water.

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!
Here is my first example for you.   Yes, I made two cards.
This card has big rain drops on a background of alcohol ink and Yupo paper.  The stamps used for it are Water Effect, Designs by Ryn.  Flower and hummingbird are Gina K Designs, Hello Friend and Stamper's Favorite.  The scalloped rectangle dies in Memory box.

I put some glossy effects on some of the drops.

I thought that I would show you the first card that I did.  I was experimenting with alcohol inks and papers.   This card has two layers Yupo on the bottom and over the top acetate, both done with alcohol inks.
I added the Whale from Clearly Besotted Whale Done and the sentiment from MFT Magical Dragon. Can you see the waves, I stamped them with MFT Otterly Love You stamp.

Trina Pham is our new Surprise Party Guest for the next few months.

Check her blog out and see what she has in her closet
Be sure to see what the rest of the design team has for you at Seize the Birthday!

Double D Challenge - Don't Bug Me!

Time for another month of challenges with The Double D team! This one is called Don't Bug Me!
What an interesting title for this challenge!  So I decided to have a little fun with it.

You can use any bug or insect on your project.  I made a card, no surprise there.
Here is what I did for your inspiration.

I was having a little fun with the cropping tool on the program that I use to put the watermark on my picture. Let me know if you like it.  You can crop it round and have a colored background. I can change the color of the background or leave it blank.
Here is the usual view that I do.
Sorry, on to my card.  This card is made with dies only and a stamped sentiment and came together quickly.   Can you see the bugs?  I used pearls that I colored with a red Copic marker and placed black dots on them to make my own ladybugs.  Here is what I used on the rest of the card.
Paper Trey Ink Pretty Framed Die
Memory Box Freida Curve (bottom)
Memory Box Ragged Daisy
Pearls and distress inks to color the flowers and leaves.
You may recognize the design paper on the matching envelope to the left.  It is GKD,  a good way to use up some of that paper that you have.

REMEMBER:  We have a fun prize to give away to one lucky player,
which will be chosen by Random.org
ALL are welcome to enter ... we will ship internationally!
Today's prize offering is ...

An assortment of butterfly, ladybug and insect stickers for card making.
Don't forget to see what the rest of the Design Team has done for you.
I'll be looking for your BUGS!
Thanks for stopping in and for the comment that you leave.  They are appreciated.
