Seize the Birthday - Cover the Card!

Our "Toppings" option this time is... "Cover the Card". Basically no white space on the card - you can stamp or use die-cuts to cover the whole card.

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!
Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

I was very excited when I found that this would be the challenge for these two weeks at Seize the Birthday.  I actually had a different idea, but I love how this one turned out.
Let me show you what I did.

On Yupo paper I did a bunch of alcohol ink designs. One of them looked like it had circles on it.  I stuck with that inspiration.  Inked up a stamp from Simon Says called Circle Doodle background and put platinum embossing powder on it. Over the top of that, I die cut Paper Trey Ink Circle Scribbles our of green foil paper along with the sentiment from Die Namics.

I guess that I cover it all. wouldn't you say?
Thanks for stopping by and remember to check out the design team at Seize the Birthday along with our Surprise Guest for this month.

Double D challenge - Pick a Pattern

This time it is Team Darlene and the challenge is to pick a pattern and make a card. I needed a masculine card so I went with a masculine pattern.  You can do anything that you like with a pattern.

I have a friend whose husband is in rehab after surgery to remove a brain tumor.
His rehab is slow, but he is doing well.  I thought he needed a card.

Here is the card that I made for him.

This one was made in record time as I used dies and there was no coloring.  After I picked out my pattern papers. I used a stitched heart die from Die Namice to cut a bunch of hearts. I used GKD kraft card stock for the base and placed them where I liked. I cut one and 1/4 inch off of the front so that the back would show. I also trimmed the heart on the top right of this card.  I had a little leftover design paper and used it on the envelope.

The inside

This is the prize that you can win.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you enjoy!  I do appreciate your comments.

Creative Confetti - Background Check!

It is good to get back and get inky again.  We were gone on a 10-day trip and will be leaving again so I needed to get my crafty fix in quickly.  My card turned out way better than I expected, so maybe a break is a good thing.
As the challenge says we are to make our image POP and a statement on the background design.
I will get right to it, here is my card.
With some help from Amy Shulke,  Vanilla Arts and Katy Racoosin, Daily Maker I did this.

Supplies used: Gina K Designs cardstock Dusty Rose
                         Simon Says cardstock Sea glass
Power Poppy Digital stamp Cone Flower
Power Poppy stamp  Party Time for the sentiment
PTI die Mix and Mat Confetti
Frantic Stamper die Stitched Rectangle Frame
                         Memory Box stencil Distressed Grid
Various Copic markers and Distress Oxide in Spun Sugar.

I will be entering this in the Creative Confetti - Background Check at Power Poppy and
The Flower Challenge#33 Focus on the Background.

Thanks for stopping in and for your comments.  I do appreciate the time that it takes to write them.

Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes!

Welcome to another great challenge here at Seize the Birthday!

Our "Toppings" option this time is...

Just remember to keep it a birthday card.
Surprise Party Guest

Her name is Lin and HERE is her blog Lin's Craft Corner.

Here is the card I made for your inspiration.

On a base of watercolor paper, I placed a die cut from Penny Black called Antique Frames.  Ove the top of that, I stenciled a Quilted design from Kaiser Craft. Using the stamp and die from Gina K Designs, I watercolored the flowers and placed them on the front. I was channeling my best Karen Hightower who designs for Gina K and placed a black gingham bow there.  If you know Karen, she does amazing cards with these great bows. Lastly,  I place some Neuvo drops on the front.

I will be so excited to see what you will be doing for this challenge.  Be sure to check out the other designers on this amazing team at Seize the Birthday.

Double D Challenge - Rose Garden

Team Diane has an inspirational mood board is perfect for June.  Flowers will be in bloom and Roses are my favorite ones.  Well, next to a poppy that is.  I was inspired by the top left photo with the street light.  Mainly because I have a die.  But I decided to use it just a little bit differently.

This is the die cut that is the prize for this challenge and you could be a winner if you just enter.
It is a random draw, anyone can win.

Here is my inspiration for this challenge.

For this card, I used a number of dies and stamps. On the bottom, you see Power Poppy's Everything's Even Rosier stamp.  It is colored with copics and colored pencil and used as a border. The background is an EF from Sizzix called brick.  I used some white ink in spots.  The window die is from Art Impressions.  Street light is My Favorite Things.

This team of fabulous designers has more inspiration for you if you stop over to look HERE.

Once again, I sure do appreciate that you take time to make a comment I enjoy this all and I hope that I have inspired you to join us in the challenge.
