Power and Spark 2

Make A Big Impact with a Small Change

This is my second entry for this months Power and Sparke challenge where we are to use one of the Inspire me Monday to inspire us. Once again it seemed to be Kathy from the Daily Marker.  Did I tell you that I had the pleasure of meeting her and taking a class with her?  She sure made an impression on me, and I am so lucky. To see her inspiration go to the link above.

What a fun day with was at the Village Paper and Ink, Gina K's store.
Here is my card for this challenge
I am loving these big bold blooms they are so much fun to color.  This one is from the Abundant Petals stamp set and again I went with mostly purple Copic markers. The small change was to add the white dots with my white gel pen.
Thanks for stopping by to take a closer look.  I sure appreciate your comments, they make my day.

Power and Spark for July

This month on the Power and Spark challenge, we are to look at the Inspire Me Monday for inspiration.  These Monday inspiration maybe about coloring or a technique or maybe even a digital image to use.  I didn't have to scroll  far to find my inspiration for this post.  Since I had the XL Poppy and it was one of my favorites I choose to use that one. I was inspired by the 30 day coloring challenge by  Kathy Racoosin She used her Distress inks for her flower.  I used my Distress Markers as I have more colors to choose from.  I also used some the techniques that she shared like the white gel pen and outlining with a black copic marker. It really makes for a outstanding flower.   You can find her example HERE

This XL Poppy is so much fun to color because you have bigger spaces to color in.  I used the vibrant purples that Kathy did.  Also when back and used my white gel pen and my black Copic marker to define elements.

Here is a close up the the inside of the poppy, the white gel pen really makes a statement here.
Supplies used on this card are:
Marianne Designs Anja's Square die
Power Poppy XL Poppy stamp
Distressed markers
Watercolor paper
Nuvo Crystal drops
Simon Says Hello die
Design papers from my stash
This is a 5 X 5 card base.

I will be interning this in the Power and Spark Challenge for this month.  It has been a busy summer, but there is always a bit of time to color.  Thanks for stopping by and I do very much appreciate your comments.

Seize the Birthday - Strips

My Triple Easel Card

Boy, when I do something, I do it BIG!  I have never made an easel card, not sure why I choose a triple one. I probably was thinking that if you can make one, why not a triple.  I was very impressed by this YouTube Video

Our "Toppings" option this time is..Strips

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!
Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

Here is my card for this challenge, and it was a challenge for me.

I had some gold striped vellum that I wanted to use on this easel card.  I will show you the layers but remember that I did some paper engineering that was a little different from the video.
The first layer with the die, Wishing from Memory box, You is GKD
Next layer  has a Marianne Designs Anjas Square with PTI Scene it Birthday Party and balloons

The last and third layer is just another one the Anja's Square die.
Put them all together and you have this triple easel card with a little note on the front.
I did fit this into a 5 X 7 envelope nicely.
Be sure to check out the other design team inspirations for you too at Seize the Birthday.

And Our Surprise Party Guest Trina Pram

Double D Challenge - Tea and Coffee

It is time for another mid month challenge at Double D!  This time it is Tea and Coffee.  I have several stamps but I decided to use one that I have had for a long time.  I have way too much!  You know what I am saying?  Well, here is the mood board for you.

 The Prize

I love the tea cups and that was my inspiration for this card.
I used my Paper Trey Ink stamp and dies to make the cups in different colors.  It is called Tea time. I pulled out a very old stamp by Stampin Up called What's Brewing and stamped the beans and spoons in Versamark ink and used clear embossing powder on them. Next I cut the border die by MFT from some patterned paper in my stash. The base is the new Coral Reef from GKD.
I continued the rounded corners inside too.
You need to play with us for this challenge  The random winner will get this awesome prize. It can be a lot of fun for you and just look at what the others on the design team have done.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I do love your comments. They make my day brighter.

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

I made this card rather quickly using  GKD paper and ink is Tranquil Teal and Sea Glass.  The flower is Altenew Spring Daisy and is double stamped. The die is Penny Black Antique Frame and I rounded the corners of the base card. The sentiment is Paper Trey Ink and I had fun rounding it too.  Pop on a few green and teal sequins and I have a Birthday card for your inspiration.

Doube D Challenge - Nautical

Hello Crafty Friends!  Happy 4th of July to you! We just had a wonderful weekend weather wise.  Sunny, but not too hot.  We managed to get out and do lots of things summer and I even got a little sun.  It feels so good.  Good thing I had my card done for the first Double D Challenge of the month of July. I didn't want to stay inside this weekend.   By the way, our theme is spot on for the beginning of summer.  It is Nautical!
Here is the mood board to inspire you.

And the Prize is
CottageCutz Paddles & Rope Ladder (Net)

I did not have a stamp that I wanted to use, so I went to the free digital images that I could print out.
I found the sailing ship and it was just what I wanted to print out on my laser printer and then used black foil and sent it through my Minc to make it shiny. Here is what I mean.
I also used a stamp by Stampers Anonymous called Evidence of Art.  I love the sentiment and the hint of the words that I stamped across the sky.  A little water coloring and some sea creatures to finished it off.
Here is an angle to show off the shine.
Visit the other teammates for more inspiration and a random chance at this cute die.  I could see some cute cards made with this die.
Thanks for stopping by I hope that you play with us this challenge, and I do appreciate your comments.
