Seize the Birthday - # 245 Follow a Sketch

What a surprise for me when our challenge Hostess JoAnn picked a topping of Follow a Sketch. This is a comment challenge for many other challenges, but I think the first time for Seize the Birthday.
Of course, if you are not a toppings kind of crafter, just make sure that it is a Birthday Card.

I decided to use up some of the many design papers that I have collected.
Here is what I came up with. It was pretty easy and I got to use up some of the many
design papers that I have collected.
Thanks, JoAnn

Double D Challenge - Wheels ( something that has wheels)

Well, here is the last challenge for Double D in the month of August.  Summer is almost gone friends!
Darlene has given us some fun images of wheels as that is the title of her challenge. Wheels or something that has wheels.

I have had this paper with bicycles on it and wanted to use it for this challenge and that is what I did.
If you follow my blog, you know that I had wanted to clean out some of my older stamps. But that is how I came across this old Duo from Gina K Designs, called Riding By.  Guess I will keep this one too.
I stamped it on an oval die cut from Gina K and colored it up with my Copics and added a few die cut flowers from Spellbinders Die called Be Bold Blooms.  Can you see the bike on the inside? I cut that from some leftover background paper.

Here is the prize for a random winner.

Be sure to check out the challenge to see what the other team members have created!

Power Poppy August Challenge - Sentimental

It is time for a new monthly challenge at Power Poppy.
The Blossom Challenge for this month is
                                                                     SENTIMENTAL!

Focus on the sentiment and frame with elements and let the sentiment
be the focal point.
Here is the digit I chose for this challenge.

7

This is one digi from Power Poppy and has everything that you need for this challenge.  You can find it in a digital stamp package called Folklore FloraI colored it with my Copic markers and added it to base card.
You can see other uses for the wonderful digital package.  Here I made smaller note cards with these images.

I am excited to have a monthly challenge back again and I would love to see what you can do. Remember a random winner will receive a $25 gift card for Power Poppy.
Be sure to see the digital images that will be on sale too.

More inspiration from the rest of the team.
Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!

Welcome to another challenge at Seize the Birthday where we challenge you to a topping, but if you are not a toppings kind of crafter, just make sure that it is a Birthday Card.

Out toppings for this two week challenge is No Stamping! Our hostess is Glenda!

Here is the card that I did using only die cuts. Easy one for me as I have many dies it seems.

Double D Challenge - Lighthouse

Hello Crafters, Diane is our hostess for this two week challenge and she has given us a wonderful inspiration board to follow. Of course, any idea that you have with a lighthouse is just fine.
For my card, I actually when to a very old stamp that I have had for years. I don't believe that I have ever used it. I applied a new technique for the background and got this card.

Gina K showed us how to do this background and you can see it here. It is called the torn stencil technique. I used the old rubber stamp called, You Light up my Life. A stencil, water droplets, and a sentiment from Never Loose Hope. ( an incentive set) Turquoise Sea ink, and a sponge brush. Master layouts 2 die. Just when I thought that I would clean out some of my old stamps, I was able to make this card and I quite like it.  Guess I will keep it for a while.

Here is a look at the inside. My BFF Donna finishes her cards and she has motivated me to do the same.

The prize for a random winner of the challenge.

Be sure to check out the challenge here to see what the other team members have created for you.
I am also entering this card in the Colorful Options Challenge .
Where the challenge is Tranquill Turquoise.

Special post in Memory of Lindsey Martin-Penny

Hello Crafters,
We are deeply saddened to share the news that we lost our treasured friend and teammate, Lindsey, last week, following her hard-fought battle with cancer. Lindsey was well-known for her amazing creativity, witty sense of humor, and immense capacity to support and encourage her design team members and challenge participants. The crafting community will miss her shining light.

Today The Seize the Birthday Team is playing along with their Sister Challenge-Color Hues where Lindsey was also a Design Team Member. This challenge was to be hosted by Lindsey, so the Design Team wants to honor and celebrate her beautiful, creative life by sharing "Lindsey Inspired" projects using her Blue and Purple combination, along with things she loved the most, as inspiration. We hope that you will join us as we pay tribute to our dear friend and teammate.

Here are a few of her favorite things:
humor, cats
gardening/flowers
love of reading
friendship
wine
tea
*If you are a regular at Color Hues and/or Seize the Birthday you might also know that Lindsey loved Clean and Simple cards too.

Here is the card that I did and it was a special one to me as I remember Lindsey.  I think that she made a comment about a flowchart that I had done years back and I made this one and sent it to her. I would always get a chuckle out of her snarky sentiments and comments on my blog too.

On the inside
This flowchart was computer generated and I used a circle of blue cardstock around each section. The panel is on a purple base in keeping with the Color Hues for this Challenge.

We would love for you to join us and you can find all the details along with inspiration from both of the Design Teams over at the Color Hues blog below.
If you cannot join, swing on over and appreciate all that Lindsey meant to our team and teammates.
Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!
