Seize the Birthday - Vellum

It s time for another Challenge at Seize the Birthday!

Our toppings are Inlay Die Cuts

Of course if you are not a toppings kind of person,
just make it a birthday card.

Here is my example

I used an embossing folder and left a border in the center for my sentiment.  I scored a line above and below the border.  Then stamped the sentiment with Cas-ual Friday stamp called The Whole Shebang.  The flowers are all die cut with Die-namics Lily.  Then colored with copic markers on the back side.  After gluing on the flowers in an arrangement that I liked, I added some pearls from my stash.  That was all.
Looking forward to seeing what you create for this challenge.

Don't forget, we have a  Special Party Guest too.  Her name is Anita Bowden  and you will find her designs HERE.   Check out what all of the other designers have done at Seize the Birthday Challenge

                                                Here is my example.

I made two cards fpr this challenge.  Actually, I missed the boat, as I forgot the challenge was Black and White and a Splash of Color.  So I made one that fit those requirements.  But I left in my original card too.

Foer this card, I used GKD black and white card stock.  The stamp set used is My Favorite Things, Sketched Blooms.  Then I colored the blooms with my Zig water color makers.  I did use Archival waterproof ink, but I still see a smear. Oh Well, It is hand made not Hallmark!

Here is your chance to go WILD with color.  I even used a lot of gold on this one too. After embossing with an EF, I sponged a lot of Distress inks on the panel.  Then when over it with Gold Viva Modellier Crème. I added another panel on the bottom of gold foil paper and a strip of gold glitter paper.  This card really has a Color Splash! The sentiment is die cut with gold and black and it was layered over the top and slightly to one side. You can see it better in this photo.

Ingredients:  GKD 120 lb card stock in white
Gold foil paper, Gold glitter paper
Die cut from Penny Black for the Sweet
Simon Says die for the Birthday
Cuttlebug EF, A bit of Persia.
Distressed inks in Picked Raspberry and Broken China.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.  Hope it is colorful!

March Challenge: Let's Go Green

We are to create projects using GREEN. In honor of Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year choice, “Greenery”.
I am going to get right to it as this has been a busy day for me, and it's going to get busier.
Here is my card.

Ingredients: Canson Cold Press Water color paper
Power Poppy stamp, Farmers Market
Distressed ink in Antique Linen, Peeled Paint, and Tea Die
Poppy Stamp dies, Weeping Willow Branches, and Stitched Main Street Tags
Spellbinder die Adorning Squares.  Pattern paper from My Favorite Things.

I tried my hand again, at no line coloring and water colors, on this image, of the box of apples.  It is getting easier, but I still have room for improvement. Lol  More family is due in this Friday, I will have to put away my craft room as they will need this space to sleep.  I maybe a bit grumpy if I can't color.  Soon our vacation here in sunny Florida will be done and we will be heading home for the summer. But we will return next year.  Or maybe sooner?

Thanks, as always for stopping by to see more and for the lovely comments.

Mod Squad Challenge - Song Inpsiration

I look for inspiration all of the time and when you look, you find it often.  Recent events in our family have made me realize that life is short ,and we need more Kindness and Joy.  I love the song by Tim McGraw called Humble and Kind.  The words are an inspiration to me, and that was how I did this card and it also inspired the Challenge at the Mod Squad this week.  I will be excited to see what you so with this one.
I die cut the word HUGS, a Die-namics die, three times. Then used the smallest stamp from the set by Power Poppy ( our sponsor this week) Called Sage Advice.  Great name!

Then I used my copic markers to color in the flowers.
Next I stamped the image you see here, and used a ton of different Copic markers to color it.
E 11,15, 40   G 12,21,24,40,43  YG3,63.91.95.97  YR12,15,23,24  Y23  R5
For my card, I used a die from Lil'Inkers tags, to cut out the colored image.
The Lil'Inkers stitched circle was used for the sentiment. It is heat embossed with gold.

This is a 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 inch white card base from GKD heavy card stock.  The patterned paper is Graphic 45 Artisan Style.  Sponged a bit of Antique Linen Distressed ink at the bottom of the image.
After adding some ribbon, I used foam tabs to attached the word HUGS!  I love how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by, I love your comments!  Now, go and create something that inspires you.
