Seize the Birthday Challenge #219 - Travel

A reminder!  Most of you are aware that Feedburner went away on July 1.  I decided last minute, to jump on the Follow it email.  So if you still want to get a notice that I have posted, just sign up on Follow it on the right.

Ah yes, we can travel again and things are getting back to normal prior to the pandemic. Are you planning a trip anywhere this summer? We have gone to visit family in Minnesota and will be going back there again in August. This theme that Glenda chose is a fun one for me and I hope for you as well. Of course if you just want to make a card, just make sure that it is a Birthday card.  You know?

This card was done with lots of dies and a little bit of stamping. Here are the supplies that I used.
Spellbinders large die of the month, Trucking through the seasons.

Double D Challange - Colors of Summer

A reminder!  Most of you are aware that Feedburner went away on July 1.  I decided last minute, to jump on the Follow it email.  So if you still want to get a notice that I have posted, just sign up on Follow it on the right.

Hello, and I hope you're having a fun summer.  We have lots of inspiration for you here on the
Double D Challenge blog.

This is the inspiration board for this challenge hosted by Darlene.

I was inspired by the upper left corner and those cool popsicles.  Only in my day, we didn't have that kind, I made the ones that I was familiar with in my youth.

Here is the card that I made.
This is a mini slimline card with the mini dies from Kat Scrappiness. I used several layers including a cute design paper from a long time ago.  I designed the popsicles myself as I had no dies, but these were pretty easy to do. Then I colored them up and placed as many as I could fit on my card. The sentiment is from Simon Says and Penny Black, but I only used one word from each to make my sentiment.

Here is te prize for a random winner.

Visit my other team members for more ideas for the challenge. You can find them hanging around the Double D Challenge Blog.

MSC - Vellum Flowers

My good friend Judy Woodland is the hostess for the next two weeks at the Mod Squad Challenge. She gave us the challenge to do vellum flowers and I know where she got the idea.  But I am not telling, that is my secret.  What a fun and easy way to make a card and I thought that I would join in the fun.

Here is the card that I made using all Gina K Design supplies.  The stamp is an older one, called Sentimental Summer. It came in a kit with the dies. How lucky is that?  All that I needed to make this card.

I colored these flowers from the front.  I know that you usually color on the back, but I liked the more vibrant color that I got on the front.
I used the swiss dot embossing folder and made a frame with a couple of rectangle dies.
I like the soft and dreamy look of the vellum flowers.

I will be adding this to the challenge at the Mod Squad

Seize the Birthday #218 - Framed

A quick note before you read this post.  Most of you are aware that Feedburner went away on July 1.  I decided last minute, to jump on the Follow it email.  So if you still want to get a notice that I have posted, just sign up on Follow it on the right.

We have a new challenge for you and this time TaeEun has chosen a Framed theme.  If course if you make a birthday theme card that will work too for this challenge. But come on, get out of your comfort zone and make a framed card. Just take a look at youtube for the rest of the team at Seize the Birthday for inspiration. I did!
Here is the card that I made after looking at some of Jennifer McGuire's videos on Youtube.
I will link it up here.  It is called a floating frame card.  I have done them before, but I really like how this turned out.
Don't you just love it when you can match an envelope to your freshly made card?

I used the Altenew Persian Motifs stamp and die set colored with Copic markers.  A standard circle die for the cutout, and my new set from Honey Bee called Buzz Words for the sentiment.  I am going to be using this one a lot.
A closer look at the circle and the pearls.

Don't forget that we have a Surprise Party Guest and she has some wonderful examples for your inspiration. You can find Melanie's blog HERE.

Ok, I will be excited to see how many of you will use the topping suggested by TasEun.
See you soon!

Hello Crafty Friends! It is time for another fun challenge at Double D and the challenge is...
Summer Gingham!
Diane is our host and just look at the inspiration that she has for us on this board.
Gingham just makes me think of an old-fashioned summer.

Here is the card that I did for this challenge.

The supplies that I used are:  The Greetery Balloon Bouquet stamp and die. MFT Gingham
Galore 6 x 6 paper.  I cut a frame from the white cardstock and place the gingham behind it. 'Then the balloon in vellum over the top. It was pretty easy.

Here is the Prize for a random winner.

Don't forget to check out the Double D Challenge blog for even more ideas for this
Summer Gingham Challenge.
