Creative Confetti - Mad About Plaid

Well, I was not going to enter the Creative Confetti challenge that Julie put out there for this week.  Seriously that was my intention. As I was shopping for some last minute things at the grocery store, I spotted some interesting napkins for the Christmas dinner table.   I remembered the challenge was Mad About Plaid and I bought them. Sure, now when do you have time to make a card, when there are other things to get done.  If you are a crafter like me, you get an idea and it swirls around in your head until you just can't help it. Out it comes.
Here is my idea for Mad About Plaid
My background is a napkin adhered to a layer of card stock.  I printed out the Digital Gifted Corgi Stamp set with the sentiment.  Colored it up with Copics and my Colored pencils and placed it in on the panel. You can find it in the store and it is on sale.  Just saying.

I accented the cute image with a die-cut border from Spellbinders called Venise Lace.  It will probably be the last Christmas card that I make this year but will be saved for next Christmas.  It is raining here in Florida today and the project forecast is that it will continue all day.
Thanks for taking a look and I do appreciate your comments.

Fun with Power Poppy Digital images and pics of Egypt

Hello to you all!  It has been a while since I was here posting pictures and creating.  Sure missed doing that, but it was worth the trip of a lifetime that we took to see our daughter and family that lives in Cairo Egypt.  We had a great two weeks and the sights were unbelievable to see.  So much history and so many people.  Cairo is a city of 24 million people.  I think every one of them owns a car.  The traffic was crazy and we were so glad to have a driver and guide to pick us up and take us each day. Here are a few of my pictures.
The Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx

 The tombs at Luxor

Amazing hieroglyphics, look at the color after 2500years BC

Of course, everyone wanted to know if we rode a camel.

After getting back and catching up, I was able to do some coloring of those amazing digi's that were recently offered on the Holiday Remix hop!
Here are the three that I got done.

Some closer looks     at these cute              Chickadees.

Christmas Remix Hop: NEW Poinsettia XL digi

This is day six of the Christmas Remix Hop and we are showcasing the new and gorgeous stamp called Poinsettia XL.  I for one, just love these XL digi's as they are great to color and bring to life.

Here is the card that I did with this beauty.

It sure filled up a Christmas card.  I colored this with my Copic markers and added a strip of striped vellum with the sentiment heat embossed in gold.  A few red sequins for a little more sparkle and it was done.  I actually colored while I listen to a book on audio.  Yes, I am a multitasker.

You can find this digital stamp here Poinsettia XL

The powerhouse of a Poinsettias. This digital download supplies three variations of this vivacious, velvety Christmas classic. With slightly puckered and rippling leaves, you can add lots of dimension and life to this festive plant though your coloring. Includes a large single bloom, Poinsettia with a stem and secondary leaves, the stemmed image with hand lettered "Joy to the World", AND a 5x7" supersized, full-bleed image to steal the show! Each image includes a light grey version for no-line coloring. Go XL and really dive into those petals this season.

Want to see what the Bloomies and Instant Gardners have done with this fabulous design?  You will need to take a look at these ladies.

Christmas Remix - Day five

I am so very honored to be a part of this creative company filled with artists.  Marcella has been one of my favorite artists and her stamps and digi are so much fun to color and bring to life.

I am joining this group as an Instant Gardner and bringing you my designs several times a month

The Christmas Remix Hop - Nov 20 - Dec 2

Showcasing existing and new designs on alternating days ...
This is day five of the remix and I was able to get a post in. You may have seen the first four days and all the beautiful projects that the other designers have made.  This will be going on until the 29th of November. Get your running shoes on this is epic!

Today we can show off some of our favorite designs in digi or clear.
I am bringing you some of the most recent cards that I have made that are some of my favorites.  You can make cards like this too.  Go over to the shop and see all of the fun stamps and digi there.

This card reminds me of the cold and snow that they have back home right now.  I used the stamp set called Grandma's Snowflakes. I heat embossed them scattered across the die and used gold embossing powder. Then I sponged them with distress ink to look like the blowing wind. I actually fussy cut the biggest snowflake and pasted it over the embossed done for more dimension. The die that I used is a favorite too and is called Anjas Square by Marianne.  This is a 5 X 5-inch square card.  It looks so rich and regal in Cranberry card stock and gold.

You can find Grandma's Snowflakes here https://powerpoppy.com/products/grandmas-snowflakes

A little extra for today,  I am including some recent cards that you may have seen on Creative Confetti, the fun monthly challenge that is a part of Power Poppy.  There is a random prize and there are no rules.  That makes it pretty easy to join in and a good way to get free stamps for your collection.

These cards were made with the same stamp set from Power Poppy and it was called
Under Glass Christmas Keepsakes

Be sure to take a look at what the other team members have for you on this hop

Christmas Remix Hop: NEW Winter Flora digis

This is day four of the Christmas Remix and Hop from Power Poppy.

If you have been following along since the start, you will not believe your eyes when you see what we have today.  This is such a fabulous design and it can be used in so many ways all year long.  I sure loved coloring this one up and so will you.

Winter flora

Whimsical, wildly wonderful, and a total wow — Winter Flora is a botanical set that goes beyond. You'll love tackling this tangle of Poinsettia, Sweet Bay Magnolia, and Hellebores plus verdant bits of Holly, Pine, and Spruce, punctuated by berries and glass ornaments! There are so many ways you can take this. You can go classic red, white, and green. Think pink with various shades of pastel prettiness. Infuse warm glimmers of yellow, bronze, and gold. You get multiple versions of this bodacious border — with and without sentiments.

I chose to go with a pink magnolia and white hellebore with the pines and ornaments.

This is colors with Copic markers and in some cases, I used Spectrum Noir markers, then touched it up with colored pencils.  I am taking Amy Schulke's classes and boy have I learned a lot. This is only one image of this digital stamp.  After coloring, I added some sparkles and glossy accents to the berries and ornaments. There are so many images that you will love. Since we are leaving to visit family, I only had time to do a few of these images.  But you can be sure that I will be taking some with me on that long plane ride to Cairo, Egypt.

Here is a better view of how the card looks.

Ok, now pick up your jaw from

I could not resist making one more card with this gorgeous image.  This time I used different colors and sponged a snowflake background.

Ok, now pick up your jaw from
the floor and see what the other
Bloomies and Instant Gardners have for your delight.

There is more coming tomorrow, you will not want to miss it.

Just go Power Poppy

Thanks for stopping by I love your comments and the time that you take to leave them.

Double D Challenge - What is your Christmas Style?

I know that it is November, but by now you have made a few Christmas cards, right?
If you have not, you have probably made them in the past.  So what is your Style?

Traditional, Modern, Elegant, All White, Vintage

I am thinking that I am Modern and sometimes vintage, and then there is an occasional White.
Oh dear!  What an I?
For this card, I am sticking with Modern.

This is the Simon Says Stamp called Sketched Flowers.  It is amazing used in so many ways. I have already done this one about 10 times. Seriously!  On this one, I used silver embossing powder and colored with Copic markers. I have a die for the sentiment and only use part of it. I used the spellbinder die Venice Lace for make is special and adhered to GKD Cranberry card stock.

Remember if you join in there is a prize!  You all make Christmas cards, so why not enter a few.

The prize

Please don't forget to swing over to Double D and check out all the wonderful inspiration there.
