#239 Seize the Birthday Challenge - Use a Stencil

Vicki chose the theme for this next challenge and I was right on it.  I had this stencil and wanted to used it again.  It is from Altenew Seasonal Blooms.  I only used part of it and paired it with a Spellbinder Elegant twist Circle cut from Vellum. The sentiment is Honey Bee Buzz Words.

Remember if you are not a toppings kind of person, just make sure that it is a birthday card.

Come on over to see what the rest of the design team has done for your inspiration.
Don't forget our Surprise Party Guest too.

Can You Handle the Pressure - Flowers

There is a pretty new challenge started by that dynamic duo of Darlene and Diane called
Can You Handle the Pressure! I thought that this looked like fun and I decided to enter a card.
And my BFF Judy Woodland is now on the design team, hip hip horray!
There is a twist for this challenge and it is optional but what the heck, I when for it.
It's Flowers.

Supplies for this card are, Pink and Main Embossing folder,
The Greetery Lovely Blossoms, Honey Bee wooden crate.
I love this sentiment, but I can't remember where it is from.
Leslie Miller a teammate from Power Poppy, recognized the sentiment.  It is from Juicy Strawberries digital stamp set.  Love it, thanks, Leslie!

Take a look at the challenge here.  I am sure you will find some inspiration.

Double D Challenge - Monochromatic

Darlene is the host for this next challenge and just look at the mood board!
Monochromatic is the theme and the color is your choice.

Here is my card for your inspiration.

This was really easy to complete as I used an embossing folder called Magnolia Ballerina from Altenew.   I used the technique where you ink up the folder and spritz it and then send it through your big shot. When that was dried, I die cut the word Hugs from PTI die and popped it up in place.
That was all.

The Prize
Be sure to check out the Double D Blog for this challenge and make a card and enter.  A random entry will be chosen.

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!

What a surprise we have for your talented card makers! Are you interested in a card challenge from Power Poppy? Well, we have one for you. It will be a bit different as we want to see you grow and thrive as creators and when we need a spark of inspiration to try something new. This is be called

The Blossom Challenge

The challenge will last a month and start on a Monday. You should use a Power Poppy image somewhere.  It could be a stamp, digi, Power Poppy freebie, or a background. This month will be a spring flower so think daffodil, narcissus, hellebore, hyacinth, primrose, snowdrop, or crocus. Marcy has generously discounted some of our BEST Spring-themed images by 25% OFF so you can play along!  Winners will receive a $20 Gift Card to the Power Poppy store!

For more complete information and a list of the sale digi's,
see Christine Okken's blog Here

Here is the card that I did for this first challenge.

Using the digital image called Magnolia Sunshine, I printed this beauty out on Cryogen white metallic paper, great for Copic markers, but you can use any smooth paper. This image consists of Saucer Magnolias, Trumpet Daffodils, and Snowdrops. I googled pictures of all of them so that I could do realistic coloring. For this card, I only used part of the image that I colored as I wanted to use this new die to me from Paper Trey Ink called Elegant Edge Lace. I cut out the lowest flower and leaves with a sharp Exacto knife so that I could use the die the way that I wanted. I should have thought this out better, but in the end, I was happy with the results. It was added to a pink card base.

Here are the other teammates that are participating in this first Challenge.

#238 - Seize the Birthday - Faux or real stitches.

Shirley is our host for the next two weeks and she has picked Faux or Real stitching.

of course, if you are not into toppings, just make sure that it is a birthday card.

I stitched up a few flowers while watching TV and added them to a card.

The die is a spellbinder die and I just used the single flowers for this card.
The sentiment is Simon Says and has a vellum shadow. The design paper is from my stash.

We had a new SURPRISE PARTY GUEST.
Read more about her HERE
She will be with us for the months of May and June.

Doube D ~ Birds - Nests - Birdhouses/Bird Cages

Diane is the host for this challenge and I have quite the story behind my card.  Just look at all of the choices that are possible for a card for this challenge. I had something in mind straight away.

When I saw the mood board, I made my card immediately.  Since the leaders here at this challenge Diane and Darlene are so organized, I got that information a long time ago. So long ago, I forgot that I made this card like six months ago.   Lol  Not funny yet! I am only now getting to my post and I think I may be the last one to put my card in.  I wonder what Diane was thinking when she didn't see a card from me. Well, I will never know as she is quite the classy lady and didn't mention it.

Here it is!

Supplies for this card are:  Stamp is Penny Black Good Neighbors
Memory Box die Wrapped Scalloped Rectangles
                                           Tailored Expressions Sentiments and die.

Of course, here is the prize for the winner.
Please visit the blog to see the great jobs for more inspiration from the design team.
I am also linking this card up to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Here

Monthly Mix Challenge - Gina K Designs

Hello Crafters! I am a long-time fan of Gina K and her products. That is why I am
Absolutely thrilled to be your host for the month of May challenge. I will call this challenge
THREE THINGS!
It is like a tic tac toe challenge, but here is the twist. I have picked the three things.
You must include an image, a die-cut, and a sentiment.
The possibilities are endless!
Here is my example.

Items used:
Thick Brush stencil
Sweet Spring Stamp and matching die
Master layouts 1
Sea Glass ink
Colored with Copic markers
Gina K Almalgon ink
Gina K white base weight cardstock.
Black onyx cardstock

After using the stencil with Sea Glass ink, I adhered it to the card base using the Master Layouts 1 die. I simply stamped and colored the Sweet Spring Stamp set with various Copic markers and die-cut it with a matching die. Next, I added it to the base of the card with foam tape. The sentiment is from the same set.  I added a few crystals from my stash.
I hope that you will join us for this challenge, I would love to see what you create.

Gina has been a big part of my life. I remember watching her videos at work while I had to sneak them. Back then it was Stamp TV and there was a video on card making every Wednesday.  Later, when Gina opened her brick and mortar store, I made a trip to see it and Gina. I was so nervous to finally meet the beautiful person that I saw in the videos. I was lucky to only live 40 minutes away, and I was able to take classes and visit often. I have met so many kind and sweet people that now are my online besties and I have even met some of them in person.
