This will probably be the last post for this year. I have grown leaps since I started this blog, and I have enjoyed every minute. I have learned so much, and I know that I can do more. So here is the card that I did for JUGS #221.
http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/
This is actually the first card that I made for this challenge, and then I was not satisfied, and made another. That one was even worse, so I decided to post the first one. All of the inspiration photos that the design team made were so good and great ideas from the inspiration photo.
I used an old fashioned clock and decided to go with that theme. I added some gold on the edges of the scallop oval and also put gold on the numbers. The gold fades to brown and those little dots are supposed to be champagne bubbles. Thought I better describe what I wanted to accomplish.
Thanks for looking and have a Happy New Year! I gotta go and watch football!

Merry Monday #88
Merry Monday #88 Use an Animal on your Christmas card. Well, I thought of this sweet mouse from Mouse House. He is just swinging by on a holly branch to say Merry Christmas. Here he is.
http://alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.ca/2013/12/merry-monday-88-use-animal-on-your.html
I colored him with Copic Markers on white CS and added a layer of red, all on a base of silver. Just a bow on the side and the holly berries were colored with sakura pen.

Timeless Tuesday #225 Use Vellum
http://flourishes.org/2013/12/timeless-tuesday-251-vellum
I heat embossed the image on to vellum with white embossing powder, and colored it from the back side. I also cut out the window frame in vellum. Both of these are adhered to sky blue CS. I used the Winter Berries stamp set for the image and the sentiment. The hardest part was getting the vellum adhered.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! God Bless!

Just Us Girl's challenge #219 Faux Silk
A quick post here, as it is a busy week, but yesterday, I had some time to experiment and that is certainly what I did. I have never done the faux silk technique before and watching the video helped. But I had an image that was already stamped and I wanted to use it, so.... I did my own technique. I colored the Dahlia image from Flourishes and the crumbled up some tissue and put it on top. I like the effect that I got and continued with some Sand CS cut with a spellbinder die and that was layered onto Eggplant CS from GKD. I have a large spool of neutral crochet thread and I can color it with my Copics, and that is what I used for the accent on the side. Then the pearls finished it off.
See what you think.

I'm off to complete house chores and then out for the day. Have a great one yourself.

Timeless Tuesday #250 ~ Words To Inspire
Words to Inspire! That's the challenges this week at Flourishes. I immediately when to the new set that I got, when I won the November release. It is called Friendship and Flowers. I chose the flower and the sentiment from that set and stamped them on to patterned paper from WeR Memory Keepers. That layer was put onto a Kraft layer cut out from a Spellbinders die, Timeless Rectangle. The base is Asparagus CS from GKD. I tore the paper around the sentiment and sponged the edges and ten added the heart, covered in glossy accents.
I can't tell you how important family and friends are in this period of my journey. It was hard to pick a sentiment from this sets, as they are all so good.
So this year, I want to be a better friend to all. Listen better and be there in spirit and heart.
Here is my card.
This card will be entered in the Timeless Tuesday #250
Here is another card that I made just for fun.
CAS card with the snow falling on the telephone booth. I wanted to get some of the stamps that I liked "inky".
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

December Release Challenge – Flip It! #83 CMC Holiday Party
I chose this sketch for my card today. The design paper is from WeR Memory Keepers Anthologie pack. Of Course the stamp is Wrap it Up and I used the bow because I thought the sketch looks like packages. The tag has a sentiment from Garden Picks. If it looks a little different, it is because I stamped it on vellum and then colored it with the Copics markers. It was a bit difficult to color onto vellum with alcohol markers. You have to work very lightly.
This card will also be entered in the CMC Holiday Party #83. any image colored with Copics.
Thanks for your comments in advance and I do enjoy them very much.

Timeless Tuesday #249 ~ Stitch It Up!
One last post this week. It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas here. House is decorate inside and out, and there is promise of snow soon. As long as you don't have to go out in it, it's beautiful. Lol
The challenge this week is to use stitching. We can use either real or faux. Well, I chose faux.
http://flourishes.org/2013/12/timeless-tuesday-249-stitch-it-up/
And here is my card for this challenge.
On navy CS, I stamped the snowflakes from the Handmade Snowflakes stamp set at Flourishes. I used versa mark and white embossing powder. Then I did the embossed resist technique and sponged navy ink over the top and rubbed off the snowflakes with a paper towel. The sentiment is from the same set and is heat embossed with silver glitter. On the bottom, I used silver threads and a sequin snowflake with a rhinestone in the center. Cut out the sentiment with a spellbinder die and did the faux stitching around the edges as well as the whole card. Last, that little red glitter heart that I seem to be putting on every card that I do. Just love that touch of love.
Thanks for stopping by and I do appreciate your comments.

Timeless Tuesday #248 ~ Score It! Pierce It! Color It!
It has been a little busy with the Thanksgiving Holiday and cooking for family, but so wonderful to have them here. Today, it was put away the fall decorations and bring out the Christmas. Got one tree up, and the mantel decorated with new things this year. Got some of the outside decorations up and will finish tomorrow, weather permitting. Should be good. Tomorrow the upstairs tree will go up. That's a big job!
So I had time to make a card, as it is relaxing for me to do. This one is for the Timeless Tuesday challenge at Flourishes. I used the stamp set that I won recently. They are so generous at Flourishes that I have won the October and November releases. I chose to work with Grab a cup. I think that I have enough Christmas cards, so I am back to friendship cards.
I stamped the coffee beans and the word coffee on to the background paper from Paper Stash by Tim Holtz. The cup of cappuccino was fussy cut and colored with my Copic markers and the I added crystal effects to make it shine. I used pop dots on the cup and the spellbinder die that it is on, before mounting to the base. The sentiment was stamped in Dark Chocolate and the edges were torn and then sponged, but before mounting, I added some brads on each side. Then, if you look closely, you can see that I pierced the steam that is coming out of the cup and added a little heart to each one.
So, I scored the background, pierced the steam, and colored the cup!
What fun these stamp sets are to work with.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and make a comment.

Timeless Tuesday #247 ~ Winter Scenes
Here is the winter scene that I created by sponging the winter sky over the moon and using the Handmade Snowflake stamp set. I also added a die cut from Memory Box. Lots of glitter embossing here on the snow flakes and the sentiment. Just a quick post today.

Just Us Girls #215 Colour Challenge
Trying something new for me. I made a tag. Not just any tag, this one is HUGE. I had a stamp that I wanted to use and it was rather big, but that did not stop me. I just used my Cameo to cut this 6 X 4 1/2 tag of Dark Chocolate CS. The stamp is Tim Holtz, Christmas Blueprint. Love'n it! So I thought I should make it vintage. I stamped it on Kraft CS with Dark Brown ink and sponged the whole thing with distressed Vintage Photo ink. I cut out branches of the tree and "pop" each one out with dimensionals to make layers. Each little ornament is also done like that. I added glossy accents and some clear rock candy on the star, and tree, and the ornaments. Now, I bet you are wondering about the red layer! Those are pearlized Mica chips that are adhered with clear embossing powder. Then I added the red ribbon.
I am entering this tag in the JUGS #215 challenge (Red, Kraft and Dark Brown)
The picture does not show thee colors very well, sorry!
http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/
Since this tag is HUGE, it will need to go on a HUGE gift. Maybe Santa will bring me one?

Up, Up and Away Birthday Card
My son is very lucky to have a December birthday. In fact, it is December 28, between Christmas and New Years. You could ask him how lucky that is for him, NOT! He would tell you that everything comes at once and then.... nothing the rest of the year. What can I say! It was not my plan, he came a month early. But, I try to make the day special for him as much as I can. He is married now to a wonderful wife that takes care of that for me. So I make him a special card each year. This is the one for this year. I really need to get some more manily stamps as he loves to hunt and does so every weekend. Just him and his dog, Muddy Paws Boss Hoss, an English Black Lab.
This card will be entered in several challenges this week.
http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.com/ Black and Silver
http://seizethebirthday.blogspot.com/ Anything goes, and if you want, the toppings is texture.
http://seizethesketch.blogspot.com/ Seize the sketch #8 Sweet and Sassy
The card is stamped with a Gina K Design stamp set, called Up and Away. On a base of black I layered a panel of silver CS with rounded orders. On that layer, I used a stencil from Simon Says, and put Distressed Stickles, clear rock candy. It looks like the wind. The sentiment is a clear stamp. so I was able to curve it and stamp it in Black embossing powder. The balloon is colored with Copics and glossy accents were added. I added a bakers twine bow that is also blowing in the wind with the help of a little glue. I also dry embossed the black layer with Tim Holtz Gears folder for a more manly, textured look.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Timeless Tueday #246 - Pick a sketch!
I'm trying to get lots done before I leave the comfort of my craft room this week. Going for a long weekend with the Kids, as we will not see them this Holiday season. This post is all about the Timeless Tuesday challenge at Flourishes. We are to pick a sketch. I am getting more comfortable with these sketch challenges.
http://flourishes.org/2013/11/timeless-tuesday-246-pick-a-sketch/
For this card I choose to stay away from the a Christmas theme and do something different. We have been to Florence and I have wonderful memories of a day in Tuscany at a vineyard. We had a tour and dinner and lots of wine. It was so memorable, I will never forget it. So here is my interpretation.
On a base of soft sand CS from GKD, I layered some DP from Festival of Prints by Stampin Up, onto ivory CS. I used my new Majestic Elements Spellbinders die to cut out the image. I actually cut out two of them, one in soft sand and one in ivory. Then I trimmed the ivory down a little. It is stamped with Dreaming of Florence by Flourish, and colored with copics. Next, to complete the sketch, I used lace and ribbon with a small buckle. This was just a nice little trip down memory lane for me. Ciao Bella!
As always, I love to see how many comments I can acquire, as you know, I love and appreciate them. Thanks for stopping by.

I took an online card class yesterday and learned some new things. This is the card that I slaved over. I used my cameo and cut the reindeer three times before I got ones I could use. This is just a quick post today. I will enter this to the gallery on the On Line Class.

Just Us Girls #214 Technique Challenge
I got to use my new single word stamp from Simon Says, on this challenge. As the technique is simple,we were to use words as a background. so I arranged the words from Holiday Hellos stamp set, and then I stamped them onto kraft CS. I sponged it with tea dye and vintage photo distressed inks, and I also sponged the dotted swiss paper that I used on the left. The little guy is a digi, that was free. He is colored with some of the watercolor crayons that I have had, and never used until now. He is sitting on a embossed brick wall. Lastly, I made my own embellishment with a stamped star and then added bakers twine and a rhinestone. The evergreens are a snowflake punch that I separated and pasted on individually. Of course, I added glitter. That little guy looks mischievous. I wonder what he is thinking?
I am entering this card in the JUGS #214 challenge this week.

Grab a Cup – November Release Challenge
http://flourishes.org/2013/11/grab-a-cup-november-release-challenge/
The weather here has been rather chilly. Mornings are upper 20's and only get to the 50's during the day. So when Flourishes posted the next challenge, Grab a Cup. I thought, this is going to be a "piece of cake." Yeah well, I got nothing! But that is what a challenge is all about, so I couldn't stop thinking about a way I could make a card from this sketch and use the Flourishes stamps that I have. Of course, I wanted it to count twice. So I decided to start with the sentiment. As a good cup of coffee is always better with a friend. The perfect sentiment that I used is from Winter Berries. Then I used embellishments from That's a Wrap stamp set. I gave it some texture with a piece of cardboard and a lot of fussy cutting. I also made an envelope to go with this card.
There it is.
I appreciate your comments and thanks for stopping by!
