Power and Spark Challenge at Power Poppy
Check out this challenge! It says to Stretch yourself! Make a project that is tall and do something that you have never done before.
Well, I set out to do just that. I made a card that measures 3 3/4 by 6". That part was easy. Since I just bought and received my Zig clean water brushes, I decided that would be my new thing. I usually like to water color with distressed markers or Kuretake paints. So this is very new to me. I think I need more practice and the colors are very vibrant.
I found that shading was harder that using the ones that I usually do.
Check out the challenge Power and Spark
Here is my card.
The recipe for this card:
Strathmore water color paper
GKD card stock in Jelly Bean Green
Die-namics Four Way Chevron cover plate
Power Poppy stamps, Short Stacks and Sage Advice
Zig Clean color markers and pearls from my stash.
Vellum for the sentiment.
I only partially cut the die, another new thing for me. The panel with the herbs is popped out with foam tape, as is the main image. Finished the inside too!
Thanks for stopping in. I love the comments and cherish each and everyone.

Barbara, this looks absolutely amazing! Your watercoloring turned out great and I love the cute card design. Brilliant idea to use the Sage Advice herb border down the side! The chevron panel and the colors... everything about this is fabulous! Thanks for stretching yourself with the rest of us at Power Poppy!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful card design. Love the image and I think the water coloring was wonderful on it too!
ReplyDeleteI just ADORE this card!!! How fun to do a long skinny one....why don't we do that more. So unique! And your coloring is awesome. Yes, the colors are very vibrant, and it takes a little practice to learn how to manipulate them, but I think you nailed it. And you will find that some colors lend themselves better than others to shading. Anyway, this card is just outstanding, I love the design!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous card Barbara! Love the coloring, that panel die and your placement of the sentiment was perfect!! Really really beautiful! Hope you had a nice luncheon.
