YELLOW a Happy Place to Be

We have show showers to day, and it is cold.  Lol, That's why we have snow showers.  Sometimes it is coming down so hard, that you can hardly see the house next door.  Lucky nothing has collected on the ground or we would be out shoveling the stuff.  What a great day to make a sunny yellow card.  Double D has the right challenge for this day.
Here is the inspiration photo.
There is so much in the photo to inspire, but I totally liked the birdhouses and the daises.  I found a stamp set that fit the bill in my Gina K Designs.  they are called Stately Flowers 2, and Snow One Like You, ( never put your winter stamps away)
Here is my inspired card from this photo.

By masking off the birdhouse, I was able to put in more than one.  I used copic makers to color them and the bird.  I have used this stamp before and it is easy to change that bird to a cardinal or bluebird, but in this case, I wanted him to look like the bird in the photo.  I love how he looks.  The daises may look more like sunflowers, but still sunny and bright.

Here is a close up of the bird.

I will be entering this in the Double D challenge, Yellow a Happy Place to Be.  Here
Thanks  so much for your comments, I do as always appreciate them.

  4. LOVE all of that beautiful bright sunshiny yellow! Your birdhouses look like you hand painted them, so artistic so GORGEOUS....love them! Masking them off was a great idea to stamp more....love the collection, pretty on a card, pretty in a yard. Although I am partial to Cardinals I adore your yellow finch--that's what he is now! :) Happy Spring.....don't put your snow shovel away--just in case....in our forecast tomorrow...sigh!

  5. This is so gorgeous and all that delightful yellow is sure to make you feel warmer and send those snowflakes flying away soon when the sun comes out later on. I love this card and I am loving yellow these spring days too! It is such a cheery color.

  6. What a cool way to use that snow stamp. LOVE it. I didn't think about the little gold finch until you draw my attention to it. I may have to do that for my card. I have this awesome GKD stamp set Winter Wings and one of the birds can be colored to look like anything. Anyway.....I LOVE this card, it's so cheery and such a good rendition of the challenge. It just makes me smile!!!
