Mod Squad Challenge TREES and SNOW

I am hosting the challenge at the Mod Squad this week.  It is my last Challenge working with Gina K Designs as the sponsor.  Gina will continue to sponsor, but Judy Woodland will be showing you what she can do with the great and creative stamps that Gina provides.  I will still be hosting the challenges, but with a new surprise sponsor.  You will have to wait and see.

The challenge that I chose is Trees and Snow.  I pictured the quiet of the forest just after it had snowed and the moon has come out full.
I loved working with these stamps and did two cards.  Since I wanted a night scene, I made the first card from navy and blue.  This is the first one.

Then I kept thinking that it would look good in other colors and I went to my favorite Moonlit Fog paper and ink.  Why not a night scene with Moonlit Fog.  Perfect!

Here is that card

Notice the matching envelope!  I die cut a circle of masking paper for the moon and placed it on my card stock. The snow hills were made with a curvy piece of paper and sponged with the Moonlit Fog ink, until I had several hills, Next I stamped the trees, and when back to make the shadows at the base of the trees.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment in silver embossing powder. Now the fun begins, I used acrylic white paint, watered down a bit and an old paint brush to splatter the snow all over the card.  Last, I took off the moon mask and sponged some yellow on it and a shadow on the snow of the moonlight.  I really like this version best.  It is a 6 1/2 X 5 inch card.
So now it is your turn to get going with trees and snow.  I am so excited to see what you come up with.  Remember, if you use Stamp TV products, you will have another chance to win the prize.

Thanks for brightening my day with your comments.  They are much appreciated.

  1. I love this scene. I wish I had time to stamp a card now too, but I am not going to bring out my things perhaps until after Christmas. I do have a few things made ahead but none that would look anywhere like your darling scene. Keep inspiring me though!
