Make it Monday #161

Make It Monday #161 Watercolor Splats Technique

After watching the video provided, I decided to try this technique as it looked like it maybe fun.
Watch Video Here
It seamed pretty simple, but the card that I am posting is not my first attempt.  So play a little with papers and colors and see what works for you.  This card is very CAS, something that I do not often do, but I wanted to show the technique off and not clutter up the card.  See what you think.

I used my In Bloom Impression plate first on 120# CS.  Then I sponged with Distress Olive ink.  Just one color as I wanted the impression to show.  Believe me, I tried many colors and I felt that less was best.  Next the watercolor technique as shown in the video above.  I just adhered that to a black piece and used brads in the corners.  That whole piece is placed on the  white base with foam tape.  Then the work HELLO was cut out and I added Wink of Stella to that.  That's it!
I am entering this card in the Paper Trey Ink Challenge #161

Thanks for stopping and I hope that you give this a try.

  2. Hi Barbara! That just looks fantastic. Great idea to put the color onto an impressed cardstock, this makes the mpressed part stand out a lot more!

  3. I LOVE it! Beautiful colors, really lovely background! Oh we really should be neighbors like-the-right-next-door-kind-walk-in-the-backdoor-kind-without-knocking-kind, as I was working in this technique yesterday too! :) Must work, but will finish them later this week! ;)
