Just Us Girls #283 - WORD Week and Make It Monday #204: Watercolor Smooshing

Masculine cards are hard for me to do.  Today I looked at some of the masculine cards on Pinterest and noted that they were usually done in darker colors and had texture.

After watching the video on Make it Monday by Paper Trey Ink, about Smooshing with water colors, I thought I just might be able to combine the two challenges.  That is what I have done here in my birthday card, which maybe the one for my Hubby's birthday next month.

I started with a base of Moonlite Fog cardstock from GKD. and did my watercolor smooching on watercolor paper.  I used the same ink, Moonlit Fog, along with Dark Sage and Tomato soup, all GKD.

Using the die from PTI called Hugs, I cut out the word HUGS, four times, and adhered them together and then place then back into the front of the card.
Next I stamped the birthday sentiment from the stamp set called Swoosh.
So it is all Smoosh and Swoosh!
Sorry, that just slipped out.  Anyway, I think the card looks masculine and it was easier than I though.

I will be entering this card in the two challenges this week.

Hop on over to see, there is still time to enter.

  18. This is my second comment here: I just had a chance to catch up on a few of your latest posts. You've been making amazing cards, and I really appreciate all the inspiration I've gotten with the techniques you've been showcasing! Doodling, tissue paper and texture paste are things I've not tried yet and can't wait to do so. The question is - which one to try first??? And while I've smooshed before, I've never gotten such vibrant colors like you did on this card. I'm going to have to give this another try! Keep the inspiration coming!!!
