Double D Challenge - If the Shoe Fits

I will admit that this was a difficult challenge for me.  First of all, I had no shoe stamps,  This is where the challenge part comes it and I love a good challenge.

I pulled out a digital stamp that I have had for a long time.  This stamp had a sentiment and an image of boots.  I wanted to separate them and that was where the challenge came in.
I'll show you what I mean.
I wanted to separate the sentiment so that I could run it through my Minc and foil it.

This is a better picture of the foil.
For this card, I used Gina K Designs card stock in Turquoise Sea.  An embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers for the quilt look. A Simon Says Die called Umbrella shaker and Design paper from Graphic 45, Artisan Style. Some Nuvo drops on the raindrops to finish it off.
Please stop over to see the other inspirations from the Design team at Double D.

This is the prize for the random winner.

I will be looking forward to seeing your creations.
Thanks for stopping here and leaving a much appreciated comment.

Creative Confetti - All about the (Pumpkin) Spice

Julie said it is all about the spice and to add some fall flavor to our carfting.  I just got this digital stamp this weekend and did not need to look any further.  I colored it up using the real images that Marcella showed us on her blog.

At first I thought it would be overwhelming, but after I got started, it was relaxing and took very little time.  These fall colors are so bold and bright.  I will be entering this in the Creative Confetti for this week.
Thanks so very much for taking time to drop in and leave a comment.  I really appreciate them.

Seize the Birthday - Use a Die Cut or Punch

Welcome to another great challenge here at Seize the Birthday!

Our "Toppings" option this time is...

Use a Die Cut or Punch

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!

                                                  The choice is yours!
Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

For this challenge, I used a die cut that I have only used once before, but after this, I think I will be going to it more often.  I loved how this turned out.  Next time I will make a few minor changes.
Here is my tag birthday card.
This is how it looks closed and the front decorated.

When you open the tag book, it looks like this.  You can decorate it any way that you like.
I fussy cut the butterfly and flowers as they are older stamps
and no die was available for them, but cutting works.

A closer look at the inside.  I love the look of the hand sketched stamps.

They were fun to color and I did quite a few of them and used them all.
The YOU has glossy accents on it.  It really stands out that way.

Here is what I used to make this tag book:
Karen Burniston tag book pop up
Gina K Designs YOU die
Simon says You Matter stamp ( sentiment on the front)
Stampin Up stamps Winged Things and Wonderful You.  I have had them for a long time.
Distressed Oxidie inks and a stamp from Darkroom Door called scrip

Be sure to check out the other design team inspirations for you too at Seize the Birthday.

And Our Surprise Party Guest Marianne
From Marianne's cards and stuff.

I hope to see you on the blog this challenge and I do appreciate your wonderful comments.

Power and Spark Challenge - Hit the Books

There are two challenges going on at Power Poppy and I am going to make it my goal to join in every one of them.  This Challenge is not new and it has been going on for quite some time.  Each month a designer challenges us to step it up. Katie Sims is the host for this month and she has challenged us to Hit the Books. You can find out more Here.

Besides crafting, my other joy is to read and I am a member of several book clubs.   So I was happy to combine my love of books with crafting.  My mind went right to a stamp set that I have not used ever.  It is an old one and maybe only Marcie will remember it.  I bought it when she was designing for another company.  I only used one small stamp from it, but I will show you how I made it work.
                                                         Here is my card.

Do you see the small stamp on the lower left corner?  That is the one that I used for this card. I wanted to make a stack of books and with the masking method, that is entirely possible
Here is the mask that I stamped and then cut out to place over the already stamped images.  I kept stamping more books until I got the stack that I was looking for.  Then I colored them with Copic markers and added the sentiment from the same stamp set.  By the way is was the Flourishes set called From the Desk of. I die cut the image with the Frantic stamper Stitched rectangles die and then cut another frame from blue cardstock.  I placed it a bit wonky on the base.  I think it looks like stacks of paper and added to the bookworm feel.  Thanks so much for stopping in and leaving a comment.  I sure do appreciate your taking time to do that.

Creative Confetti - Fab Finds

With the start of a new month, Creative Confetti has chosen a challenge that was REALLY a challenge for me.  We are to pick out a circular or catalog that inspired us and make a project.  Well, since so much is online now, we don't get the newspaper, so I had to dig out some catalogs and found one. It was called Costal Living and I really found several pictures that "spoke" to me.  I finally settled on this one that I love with the texture and soft fall colors of gray and blush orange.
This is a calming picture and I was inspired by the texture in the quilt and the soft gray with a touch of black. I thought right away of a stamp set that I have not used yet.
It think it worked well for these colors.
Here is my card.

I used the Feeling Fall stamp set by Marcella.  This is the first time I have used the cat and pumpkins.  I stamped in Antique Linen Distressed Ink for a no-line look, on watercolor paper.   Colored it with my distress markers. I used an EF that looked similar to the quilt and had to used several ink colors to get the tone of the quilt.  It is a bit darker than I wanted, but works.  I placed this panel on a layer of dark gray and then a base of light gray cardstock.  The black strip is from my stash and I have no idea what it was used for, but it is plastic and shiny and sticky.  It worked for the touch of black that I wanted.
There will be a challenge each week for the next month and if you do them you will have four chances to win the prize.  Mostly I just love doing them for the creative fun.
Thanks so much for stopping in to see more, I sure appreciate your comments and the time that you take to do them.

Double D Challenge - Let's "Pop" a Wheelie

It is that time of the month for another fun Challenge at Double D and the title is
Let's "Pop" a Wheelie!
Here is the mood board for your inspiration.

You can do anything that has wheels!
I made a fun card using a digital design from Tiddly Inks.  I love how this one turned out.
This digi is called Big Wheels and I printed in on X-press paper and colored with my Copic markers. The base is cardstock from Gina K Designs in the new color Tangerine Twist. I placed a panel of design paper from PTI called Autumn Abundance.  I cut the image with a die from Lil Inker, stitched circle, and also used some dies to enhance the card.  They are Spellbinder Scalloped Border Two and Marianne DesingsAnji's Square. (I sure am getting a lot of use out of that die.) The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted, a little Sentiment.
I added Wink of Stella to the wheels after highlighting with a B10 Copic.
They look like they are spinning. Also note the matching envelope that makes this even better.

Here is the prize that a random winner will get.
Be sure to see what the other team members have done for your inspiration today, You will not be disappointed. Thanks for stopping here and I do love your comments. Enjoy, and I will see you soon.
