Timeless Tuesday #260 ~ < = >!

Less = More! What does that mean, you ask? Well, simply create a card with a stamped image, but NO coloring! That's not easy for a crafter that loves color! So I resorted to a recent video, that My friend Judy, mention on her blog. It was for Double stamping. So that is what I did here. When you use clear stamps, it is easy. Just ink up a clean stamp and stamp onto paper, clean it again and use another color and stamp again.

I used GKD chocolate brown and ivory CS for the base, layered some DP from WeR Memory Keepers Anthologie pack. I double stamped the image from Flourishes Chrysthamums, with Grass Green, Sweet corn, and Sweet Mango onto a panel of white and layered on to Chocolate. The "Hello" die is from Simon Says Stamps. I love the simple hand writing of this die. Some buttons and gingham ribbon added for more color. But NO coloring!

Thanks so much for your comments!

Still thinking SPRING!

Today I had at make a card for JUGS challenge #229. My friend and Design Team member Sharyn Polesel, so inspired me with her take on the inspiration photo, I had to give it a try. I had several thoughts, none of which were as good as her card, so I trashed them and went with this one. This is not a Wowzer card, but the best for now.

This cute little fox from Newton's Nook set called Sweetheart Tails, is just hoping for Spring, like I am. The birds are out singing too, on an embossed branch done in blue. I used Gina K base of Tomato Soup and some DP from Embellishments by Dana. Cute plaid to go with the colors in the inspiration photo. That fox is wishing so hard for spring that you can see his heart shining with Wink of Stella. That does not show up very well in my photo. That's faux stitching on the borders too.

Once again, Thanks for stopping by!

Gold Cage Silhouette Birthday

The sun is shinning brightly today and I am thinking of spring. So are most of the people in our nation. Even though the temp is 20 today and no promise of getting any warmer this coming week, I'm sticking to SPRING! It is closer now than ever! So I made this one card that I can enter in many challenges this week. Way to go! This is no easy feat, if I say so myself.
Here is my card.

Base is dark pink, layer is lighter pink. Polkadot DP is from Devoted by CartaBella 6X6 pack. I used a stencil that I made on the light pink and sponged with Bubblegum Pink ink from GKD. Wild Roses stamp set from Flourishes and it is colored with Copic markers. The Cage and cameo are a silhouette cut and the cage is embossed with gold. Greeting is from "Hello Sunshine" stamp set, GKD. (see where I am going?) Three little pink hearts with clear Wink of Stella pen.

I am entering this card in these challenges.

Mod Squad, JUGs and Flourishes timeless Tuesday Challenges

I am back from vacation and glad to be home. As soon as I was able to spend some time in my craft room, I was able to make this card. I usually take a picture in the morning, as that is the best light for my camera. But today, we have a snow storm, and it is so white outside, I can't see the neighbors house. Feels like I am in a snow globe. Not easy to turn to thoughts of Spring, but after all, it is closer than ever before. I chose a new stamp set from Flourishes that I wanted to use, called Apple of my Eye. The apples were so fun to color with copics, as I continually try to improve my technique. I used GKD paper in navy and coordinating DP in gingham. I die cut kraft paper and then embossed it with Wicker Weave folder. I added white gel pen in the embossed areas for more texture. After fussy cutting out the image, I realized that I have a cut file for this image. I won't forget that step again. Then I added the word Apples stamped in red on real wood paper. This is the first time I have used my Wink of Stella glitter pen on the flowers, and I just love it. Ribbon on the bottom for a delicate touch.

I am entering this card in these challenges this week.

Good to be home and crafting again!
