Power Poppy Mini Release - Healing Bouquet

It is day two of the Power Poppy Mini release and just as yesterday so many of the team are participating and showing you this new digi.  There are a lot of ways to illustrate this sweet arrangement.  You can do lemons, limes, grapefruits, I think you could even make that an avocado!  Why not, wish I had that of that earlier.  I just made mine a lemon and had fun coloring it.  I used a picture that I found on the internet for reference.

Once again here is where you can find the mini-release digis.

Power Poppy Mini Release - Aloe and Oranges

It has been a very long time since there has been something new from Power Poppy. This virus has hit us in many different ways.  Some good and some not so good.  Most of us crafters have hit a lull and don't feel like making pretty things anymore. Well, that is over as there are some new fun things to color and be creative with by Marcella Hawley. We have a mini release for you.  These new images will be available this Thursday at The Power Poppy shop.

This collection is called Fresh Squeezed Sent Collection.
http://powerpoppy.com/collections/fresh-squeezed-scents

Here is the first digital stamp set. I have had the digital stamp fo a bit and have played around with it.  I have two so show you. This is called Aloe and Oranges.
It can be seen and ordered here. http://powerpoppy.com/products/aloe-and-oranges/

I wish that I could add some orange sent to this card as those oranges look so real. You will have fun coloring up this one.
On another note, I wanted to make a card that was a bit simpler than this one so I used my computer and Photoshop to just pick out the single orange and I made this card.

You really need to hop along here as there are some stunning cards by the design team. You will be surprised, I am sure of it.

Seize the Birthday - Rainbow colors

It is my turn to pick a theme for this challenge and I thought rainbow colors would be fun. Anyway that you want to illustrate the rainbow colors is fine with me.

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just

stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!
The choice is yours!

Here is my card.

This is a shaker card that has long been sent off to my niece for her birthday. The rainbow colors are in the background.

Double D Challenge - Butterflies

This is the first challenge in August at Double D and as you see by the inspiration board, it is BUTTERFLIES.
Are they not just beautiful?
I am usually drawn to the monarch butterfly, but this time I liked the yellow ones in the
upper right corner.  Maybe they are monarchs too.  They reminded me of a stamp that I had and have not used in a while.

Supplies for this card:  Nordic Frame The Greetery
Painted Butterfly Stamp and Die by Altenew
Poppy Bloom Stamp and Die by MFT
                                     Arteza watercolor pens

You really need to see the blog where the rest of the team has made some very
wonderful butterfly card for you.
Here is where you can find them.

Creative Confetti: "Pop" goes the flower!

I am happy to be hosting at Creative Confetti this week and I have a challenging one for you.
It is called "Pop" Goes the flower!
Hello all! I bet you are wondering what this title means. "Pop" goes the flower? I have learned that if you want your image to stand out, you need shading to push it out front.  In this case, I have actually made my entire background dark to get that effect. I have colored the background of my card with a Copic marker.

HOW TO PLAY: Stamp your image for your project, color it up and then color the background too.  Make sure that it is a dark color and that will make your image "pop".  If you are hesitant to color the background, you can just start with dark card stock, or you can cut out your image and adhere it to a dark card base.  Whatever you decide, just go for it. It will be fun. Remember that everyone has a chance to win a $25 gift code to the Power Poppy shop.
On to my creation!

I will be honest with you, I made this card and when it turned out OK, I wrote this post.  Sorry that I have no in-process pictures.  I promise that next time I will do better. I do have a surprise later, so stay tuned. For this card, I used the stamp set called Abundant Petals by Power Poppy.  After stamping it with Versamark and a champagne embossing power, I colored it with Copic markers. The flower is YR68, YR21, Y17, and Y38,  the leaves, YG03, YG17, YG21, and YG67. My background is B24.

Here is the surprise that I mentioned before.
I am adding this card that I made after taking Amy Schulke's class. It is another example of that dark background that makes everything "Pop".

This card uses the stamp from Power Poppy called Take a Deep Breath. This background has Distress ink in Chipped Sapphire and Mermaid Lagoon sponged on using the masking technique.

Now it is your turn!  Roll up our sleeves and start coloring up those images.  I can't wait to see what you do. Remember you can win a $25 gift code if you enter.

Until next time!
~Barbara
