Seize the Birthday - Creatures great and Small

New Challenge for the next two weeks at Seize the Birthday

The toppings for this challenge is Creatures Great and Small

But if you are not a toppings kind of personJust make it a birthday card and that will work too!
Here is my card for your inspiration.
Just a fun card using a selfie of dogs.  They are a stamp and die from My Favorite Things called Four-Legged Friends.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday Sunflower and the Let's Party is from a stamp ( Crafter's Companion) given to me by Nancy.  I used my rectangle die with a square die to make the photo image and place the dogs inside.

Spring Border One by Power Poppy

I had not colored anything in a while and today was the day.  Well actually, it took me a little longer than a day.  I got the idea, printed it out a few days ago and then looked for an example to mirror my daffodils after.
I printed out the Spring Border One that had a lot of choices to use. I liked the daffodils and chose that, along with the sentiment which I layered over the top.
Then I set out to look for an image that I found on the internet.  Amy Shulke teaches in her classes to find a real image to gather coloring information from. Are these not striking daffodils?

Here is my card.
White is hard to color and it is best to use an example such as this one.

I used some Copics and my Prismacolor pencils too

I  cut a 5X5 white base and then die cut the Anja's Square by Marianne from my colored image. I love this square die and use it often. I think that is all this card needs.
Living here in Florida during the winter months, I will be able to use this card to send sunshine to a lot of friends.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I love your comments.

You can get this digital set from Power Poppy   Marcella is still offering the beautiful rose Free.

Seize the Birthday - Stencils

The toppings for this challenge is Stencils

But if you are not a toppings kind of personJust make it a birthday card and that will work too!
Here is my card for your inspiration.

I wanted to do something different with stencils and I found an interesting idea on Pinterest.  HERE This technique used embossing paste with a stencil and then you colored it after it was dry.  I really liked the look.  I kept the colors soft using Distressed inks in Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, and Shaded Lilac. The stencil used here is Gina K Designs Snowflake Mandella, along with a die from Die Namices called Stitch Round Rectangle
 A little closer look.
For another more masculine look, I did the same technique but sprinkled embossing powder on the dried panel.  ( I would recommend that you do this before it dried) Colored the whole panel with Distressed ink in Vintage Photo and added some glitter glue.  It has a masculine rustic look and liked it enough to share it here.  It makes for a card with lots of texture. I used a stencil from Simon Says called Tumbling Leaves and Penny Black Antique Frames die.

Double D Challenge - Balloons

It is time for another challenge at Double D!
It is the second one for the new year. It is Team Darlene's turn!

You got it! Balloons!
Do you think of celebrations when you see balloons?  I think of a birthday card.
So that is what I did, but a little different.  I have stamped them and die cut them and this time I wanted to do something different. I spent a little more time on each balloon.
You can see what I mean on my card.

On watercolor paper, I spread some water and then some gold and ruby paint and let it do its thing. Then I used a die from Simon Says called Balloons.  I just cut the single balloon several times from gold shelving paper.  Yep, got that stuff years ago in gold and copper.  I stuck it to some lightweight card stock and then die cut five balloons.
I carefully tied a gold twine to each balloon. Here is where the extra time came in.  I needed my glasses for that. Who am I kidding, I need my glasses whenever I craft.
That bow that holds the stings together is really a flower die.  Die Namics Lily.
The sentiment is PTI Phrase Play #11 and it was stamped on a Die Namics Peek a Boo window.
Last, I added some die cut stars from the same gold shelf paper.
This is a fun and doable challenge and who doesn't need a balloons card for their stash.
And.... there is a prize for a random winner.

It's a great prize and a fun Challenge!  Be sure to see what the rest of the design team has for you.
As always I do very much appreciate your comments, they make my day better.

Seize the Birthday- Layers and new design

We are starting out the new year with a fabulous new design!  It is so refreshing and we had our teammate Ashwini to thank for creating it.  Don't you love it?  I Do!
The toppings for this challenge is Layers
Here is my card.
I used an embossing folder called Zig Zag for the texture that you see on the base card. Then another banner for the second layer.  It is just a strip of card stock that I embossed lines with my bone folder. Last I used Memory Box die called Lenora Bloom to die cut flowers and leaves.  I added some color with my Copic markers and glued them on in an arrangement.
Added some pearls with Pearl Nuvo drops.

Don't forget that we have a Surprise Party Quest for January and February!
Her name is Joyce Mehrberg and you will find her blog Here

This is a brand new look to Seize the Birthday and a new year.  You never know what you will get.

Double D - 4th Anniversary Celebrating with some Punch!

It's a new year of crafting and celebrating at Double D

We are celebrating our 4th Anniversary

With some 'PUNCH' We want to see some poor neglected punches used.

There is always a board to help get you going.

The Prize

I was inspired by the colors on the board and the fact that this is a celebration of an anniversary. I kept my colors light and wanted to create a party on my card.  Here in my Florida craft room, I have no punches, but I think a die could be used as well. This die is from Sue Wilson and it is called Shadowbox celebrations. I love this die cut as it can be used for so many celebrations.
I have neglected it.
This will be used as an anniversary card when I need one.
I used the Power Poppy stamps set called Dream Wedding with my brand new Arteza watercolor pens.  Boy, do I love them! So easy to use on watercolor paper. You will be seeing more of them on my cards.  I am pretty sure of that.

This inside was completed for this card as well as an envelope.  The finished card is 5X5.
I added some swiss dots to the envelope leaving white space for the address.

We are off to a great start and you should see what we have in store for you this year.
Be sure to see what the team has for your added inspirations at the Blog

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year for 2020!
