JustUs Girls and Mod Squad Challenge and NBUS

This week the challenge at JUGS is a color challenge.  Look at the colors that they chose, orange and yellow.  Wonderful summer colors.  Does that sound familiar to you?  Well, the Mod Squad challenge this week is to use summer colors.  Yea, this sounds like one card for two challenges!
I wanted to use a new stamp, just itching!  It fits in well with both challenges and it was fun to put together.  Yes, I have had my cup of coffee, and just finished this card before my second cup.
                                                      LOVE THAT!!

Here is the receipe:
GKD CS Sweet Mango and Sweet Corn
Lil'inker die
DP from my stash ( probably Stamp in UP)
Tiddly inks stamp  Hang in There
GKD Petite Borders stamp
GKD ink Sweet Mango

I am entering this card in Just Us Girls challenge #246
Mod Squad challenge Summer Colors
NBUS Challenge.

Thanks for your comments, now it's your turn!  Lets see what you can do,  Remember only one card gets you into two challenges.

Make it Monday #168

Make It Monday #168: Combining Chalk and Stamps with Impression Plates

Well, this turned out to be a very interesting challenge for me.  I only have one impression plate and that is the In Bloom.  I embossed that on watercolor paper and also embossed (at the same time) a spellbinder rectangle die, so that I could put in a sentiment.  I do not have chalks, so I used my Gelatos and water to color over that.  Here is where it gets interesting.  Using Distressed inks, I stamped the wreath from A Wreath For All Seasons stamp set.  Over the wreaths, I stamped Dahias from the Delightful Dahlia Additions set, to make this unusual flower.  Gingham washi tape on the bottom to lighten up the card.  I am not sure it I like the results, but see what you think.  Here it is.

Just a quick post today!  Hope you day is good, and thanks for stopping.

Just Us Girls Challenge #247

It is a technique and it's watercolor!  I think that is my favorite technique to play with.  I used to watch my Dad paint and I was fascinated by it.  Now I can do it myself.
This card just drips of watercolor.  All CS is Gina K.  I used White, Sand and Ocean Mist.
I first stamped the white, with versamark, and a Stamp in Up texture stamp.  Then heat embossed with white.  On top of that, I used distressed inks and water.  Then I stamped the hearts and sprayed the stamp with water.  Fussy cut those out and used foam dots to adhere them.  I drew in the strings to turn them into balloons.  Last, I used another Stamp in Up stamp for the sentiment. This will be a birthday card for a friend that does not like flowers.  So she gets balloons and a few sequins!
Thanks so much for your comments.  They are appreciated.

GIVE AWAY!

I went to a scrapbook expo recently and I bought a grab bag of embellishments.  I have so many that I want to share.  My friend Sharyn, had a give away, and asked that friends just follow her.  I thought that was a great idea.  I just figured out how to put the "Follow" gadget on my blog and that is what I am going to do.

All of those who are "following" will be put into a drawing for the gift bag.  Guess what, I have two of them.  All of you that have already signed up will be included.

I will keep this going for one week and all of those that are following will be put into the hat.  The week of June 23, I will announce the winners.
Yoo Hoo!  I hope to get lots of followers!
Thanks to you all.

Peep of the Week????

I am playing with Power Poppy.  Just check it out .HERE

This is a digital of the beautiful Iris flowers by Marcella Hawley.
I colored them with copic markers, after looking at some pictures on line of these flowers.  They come in many colors, but I liked the deep purple.
Just a fun challenge to show them what you can do with the designs.
Have a great day my friends.

Just Us Girls Sketch and Mod Squad challenge

It has been raining all night, and the forecast has it raining all day.
So it maybe be just a coincidence, but I thought of an under water
scene when I looked at this sketch.  Please, don't ask my why!
Anyway, I got out an old stamp set from Stamp in Up called
Fishy Friends and stamped it in black and then cut it into quarters.
I made a base and then layered Wild Lilac with DP from All from GKD, Wisteria Lane.  I used water and Dusty Concord Distress ink to just swipe across the fish.  The sentiment is from Mama Elephant, called Good Times.  I added washi tape and ribbon on the bottom.  The random bubbles really make the card.  Wish I had more of them.  Got them from Gina K., a long time ago.

I am also entering this card in this weeks Mod Squad Challenge, Ocean/Nautical/Sea

Thanks for stopping by, and BIG NEWS.... drum roll.  I just added a followers widget to my blog, so I will be doing a give away soon.  Keep watching.

Poppy Sketches and NBUS challenges.

Poppy Sketch #6 with a Pop of Pattern

As you can see the pattern is Harlequin!  I only had that pattern in black and white, so I quickly went to my Cameo and selected a Harlequin pattern and cut it out of stencil material.  I used the newly made stencil to make my harlequin pattern on white paper with Sea Glass and Pear Tart inks.  I also used GKD Ocean Mist and Green Apple CS. On the bottom, is some Washi tape.  I have quite a few, and have never used them before.  The image and sentiment are from Tiddly Inks. Her name is Christy, so cute.  Also never used before.  .
Since everything on this card has never been used before, I am also entering it in the NBUS challenge.
Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)
NBUS stands for Never Before Used Schtuff!  What fun, don't we all have schtuff that we have not used?  Well I sure do.   You can find that challenge Here.
So thanks again, I love to see who looks and who leaves comments on what I dare to post.  Lol

Mod Squad Challenge

It's a Happy Anniversary
For the Mod Squad challenge this week, the 25th Anniversary of Lee, inspired her to have us do anniversary cards.  I had a great sentiment for an Anniversary card, and was inspired by it, to make this card.  It simply says,
May the moon shine and the stars sparkle for the two of you tonight

I used a stencil from Simon Says on the BG, and after drying, I made the moon and swiped 3D Stamp Paint over the stars.  It sparkles and is amazing.  Then I printed the sentiment on velum and cut a fishtail banner. That is adhered with some embellished stars.
The inside has the rest of the sentiment.
Ok, I am going out to enjoy the rest of the day.  Toodles to you!

Seize the Birthday SUMMERTIME

There are four siblings in my family.  All of us were born in August except for the last one, which has a birthday in September.  Do I need Birthday cards for summer?  You bet.  I could not resist the stamp set for my sister Maggie.  I may do several birthday cards for her.  This is the humorous one.
I used the Art Impressions Sally Swimmer.  She is colored with copics and then die cut.  All of the papers are Gina K, from a pack called Pool Side.  Perfect!!
This card will be entered in the Seize the Birthday Summertime challenge.

I made the sentiment by using several parts from different sets.  "Making waves" is from the Sally Swimmer.  "Just for you and Happy Birthday" are from Clearly Besotted.  I placed them on a banner that was wavy.  Get it?
                                                                    Here is the card.

So glad we have summer birthdays!
Thanks for stopping by, and please have a great day and weekend.
The weather promises to be great.  Get out and enjoy!

Make it Monday #167 DIY Notebooks

This was a fun project and different than making a card.  Soon the kids will be out of school and there will be teacher's gifts to be made.  This is perfect.  You can use scraps that you may have collected.  I had plenty of those.  So I chose to use the Feather Finery stamp set.  I stamped the smaller feather twice with GKG Charcoal Brown and then embellished them with some gold Wink of Stella and few dots of orange.  Here is this cute note book with a caption that is trendy.  It is from Pink.
It was so simple and easy to make, I going to make more.  It is a perfect day to craft as it is raining outside.  I don't even need to stop to make dinner.  We are going out with friends to celebrate their anniversary.  Life is good and thanks for stopping bye.
