Simon Says Monday Challenge: Inspired By A Song

I admit it.  This was just too much fun to not do this week. Our daughter sent us a copy of Adele's new album 25.  I have been listening to it in the house, in the car and I can hear it in my head.  Of, course, I sing along. I am sure that I could be a back up singer for her. My favorite song, is hard to say, as I love several of them on this album.  What came to me right away, as I am sure many other did, was Hello.  I had the right stamp set, again, one that I had not used until now.  It is no longer available, but perfect for this tag.  It us called Call Me, by Flourishes.
The tag is from PTI called bookmark,  I sponged it to look antique, and stamped words like, HI and Give me a ring, after stamping off once.  A little washi tape for whimsy, and the telephone was  fussy cut.  It has glossy accents on it too.  Then I added the sparkly hearts, as this song is about a lost love. The sentiment is perfect too as the song goes on, she never connects with the person that she is calling.  Too much fun.

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look at my funny song side.

Inky Paws Challenge #29 - Color Challenge

I have not done an Inky Paws Challenge for while, but i am back into them.  I took advantage of the discount that Jennifer gave to the Mod Squad recently, and bought a few new stamps.  I love the idea of Newton's Naptime and used it here.

These are the colors that we are to use in this challenge.
You can find the challenge Here

We are to use the colors Red ,Light Blue, Lime Green, and White.
Here is my card.
The recipe:

Frantic Stamper Die, Fancy Frames #1
I sponged the EF before embossing, with lime green and lt blue.  Hard to see here.

This card will be going to a good friend who has been coping with cancer for the last year.  She is fighting hard, but needs her rest.  I hope that Newton will encourage her to get some rest.

Make It Monday #239

Customizing Patterned Paper

I know that it is Wednesday, but PTI decided to do a Make it Monday challenge. You can see how they customized the patterned paper Here

I took some liberties here, as I have very little patterned  paper with me this winter.  I started with PTI Sheer Basics pattern pack of Vellum.  I choose the bold stripes.  Then customized it with heat embossed gold stars from Scene It Celebration.  Stazon Ink was used for the Hands from Give Me a Hand stamp set.  This will be another graduation card to add to my stash.

Here is my card

After heat embossing the vellum, I adhered it to a layer of black polka a dot paper with gold brads, then onto a base of Steel Grey.  I need more masculine cards, and I think this one will work.
Yes, I finished the inside too.  Good girl, (pat on the back)!
Another view of the card.

Have a great weekend and Hug someone!  Thanks for stopping by, I love your comments.

Sketch 268 MFT, Double D Challenge, and Dies R Us

It is time that I get back into a routine with my challenge entries.  I have not done My Favorite Things challenge for quite awhile and that is not how I want to roll!  That being said, here is the sketch for this week.

I decided to use my Stamp and dies from The Whole Herd.  The images are so cute, how could anyone not like them.  I had preciously made a background with the Cow Print Background stamp and now I will  use it on this card.  I also made a pattern on the red paper with the Primitive Chevron Background stamp, with white ink.
Just white, red and the stamped pieces of card stock. a bit of ribbon and some copic markers and this one came together pretty quickly.

Here is my card.

I am entering this card in these Challenges:
Thanks so much for stopping by,  I really appreciate any comment that you care to leave.

Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary Challenge - Paper Crafting Alphabet Challenge!

http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef01b8d19f3eb1970c-pi

This last day challenge is a fun one.  I don't know where they get these fabulous ideas, but keep them coming. You are to pick at least 3 of the letters in your name.  Be it your first, or second name, correspond them to the Paper Crafting Alphabet  to the left, and make a project.

I chose the first three letters in my first name.

B put your sentiment on a banner
A add a border
R round some or all of your corners

This was a simple card, again using a stamp set that has not been used before.
I was thinking that I could use this for a graduation card.  I will be needing to fill a large order for them.
I die cut the border from Memory Box, Winter cabin Landscape, and placed it on a white GKD heavy weight card stock base.  Stamped the Airplane and banner in GKD Red Hot ink, and fussy cut them.  They are PTI  stamp set, Fly Away. I sponged just a little on the houses and trees so give them depth.

Thanks again for stopping by.  Love your comments.

Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversay Celebration - Thank You

Today's challenge is:  Create a thank you card and mail it to our warehouse staff, and send it off to them.
It is also announcing  a new # hashtag campaign, #saturdaysnailmail.  You can enter every Saturday and share with friends on your social media.  #saturdaysnailmail.

I will be posting two cards today as I am playing catch up for yesterday.
Here is the Thank You card I made for this one.
I recently water colored a piece of card stock and I used it here.  Die cut it with the Spellbinder Wonky dies, and made a border of Blueberry Sky paper on a white base.  The image is from that set I used yesterday and loved, called Flower Favorites.  I will be entering this in the challenge at PTI and sending it to the people that work in the warehouse.  Every package that I get is wrapped in tissue and looks like a prize.

Thank you for stopping by to see my blog. I much apprecitae your taking time to comment.

Power and Spark Switch up your Shades!

YOUR CHALLENGE... This month I want you pull out a coloring medium that you don't use that often. So if you tend to use Copic Markers for instance, pull out your water color paints or your colored pencils instead! Lets see you use up some of those not-so-used mediums this month.~Ally
I saw a new technique yesterday, and as soon as I saw it, I knew that I would be doing it for this challenge.
Melanie Muenchinger Here   did a technique that looked like a pencil sketch.  I imagined that Marcella does this when she designs her stamps.  I went right out and purchased the Toned Gray sketch paper.
Here is my card.
What I switched up was to used colored pencils.  New to me!  I stamped the image from Marcella called Sassy Succulents, in black ink and only used the white and black pencil to color it.  Raised an oval stitched panel on to and placed some ribbon on the side.  That's all.  I think I will be doing more of these.
Thanks from stopping by and thanks for your comments.

Double D Challenge Pretty Pink Hearts

Pretty Pink Hears is the title of the challenge this week.  Here is the Photo inspiration.  How fun, when you are right in the middle of making Valentine Cards.  Couldn't be easier!

Here is the photo inspiration.  Check out the Challenge HERE

I used a Falling Hearts stencil from Simon Says, with paste that I added pink color to.  The die that I used is also Simon Says called, Heart Parade.  I only used two of the hearts from the die, and separated the top and the bottom.  Black stripe paper is behind it.  The hearts are covered in pink Stickles.   Sentiment is from Simon Says, Roses for you.

While I was at my desk, I made a few more with the papers I had left over.  I love left overs!

Make It Monday #238

Valentine Ombre Stamping

Melissa shows us this week how to she does the ombre effect with dies and gelatos.   You can click on the title above to see her example.

I made this card, and chose to use the Big Hugs die from Papertrey Ink, along with the Sunflower cover plate.  I am in need of these kinds of cards these days.

I die cut the sunflower and only used part of it.  I placed a piece of polk a dot design paper behind it and place it on White card stock base.  I die cut three of the HUGS and colored with my Zig clean water colors brushes in the three shades of yellow for the ombre effect.  The rest of the sentiment is from the same set.

This card is very bold and striking.  After cutting the die out, I almost didn't use it.  Instead, threw it in the scrap box where it landed on top of the designer paper.  That was when I knew I had a card. Love it when a design jumps up and hits you in the face.

Thanks for dropping in to see my card today.  I do appreciate the comments that you may care to leave.

Enjoy!
