Double D - Lots of White

This is the second challenge for Double D this month of November
and Darlene is our hostess.

She has the most beautiful pictures of white on white for your inspiration.  I did a card all in white with lots of texture. But when I took the picture it does not look all white.  That is because I used white ad cream card stock. I am currently trying to get rid of the cream as I prefer white.  Here goes anyway.

For this card, I used some dies that I have had for a long time, but used them in a different way. In the center panel is the Memory box Sheer Circle trimming and made a pinwheel sort of design.  The coffee cup is called Morning Cup. Along the side is the Dribble Dot die. The sentiment is Power Poppy called Short stacks.

Go and see what the design team has for you HERE.
Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving from me.

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!

Double D Challenge - Christmas Joy

Christmas Joy is our theme for this first challenge in December.  How appropriate is that?
But there is a twist, you must use the word JOY on your project. Diane, you are a tricky hostess.

Here is the inspiration board for you.

Lots of use of the word JOY.

Well here is my story, I have a word die JOY, but it is in Flordia.  I know that I have it,  because when I looked in my bits box and saw it.  It was red card stock.  So I placed it on my desk and kept an eye on it. If I could not wait until traveling to Florida, I would use it. As you can imagine, I wanted to get this done and not have to worry about it, so I forged ahead with what I had.

Here is the result
Too bad that you can't see the gloss on my JOY. I accidentally found this embossing powder in my stash and what a surprise for me. I will be taking this with me where ever I go. Seriously!

Of course, my friend Donna Phelan always does the inside and so I need to keep up with her.

Supplies for this one are: Paper Trey Ink JOY die
The Greetery Botanicuts Pine Bough and Plaid background
Gina K Designs Festive Foliage for the sentiment.
Stampin Up embossing powder Glassey Glaze ( found this in my stash and I will not be without is again)

For anyone that enters this challenge, a random winner will be given this gift.

Make sure that you go to the blog to see what the entire team has for you.

Seize the Birthday - Hobbies and Pastimes #228

This is our last challenge for this year of 2021.
I think that the theme is a super one and Lindsey is the hostess.

I hope that you try this theme, but if not, just remember
to make it a Birthday Theme.
Here is my card.

This is me!  Really, as I am the happiest in my craft room making cards. I have had this stamp for quite some time and unfortunately had not used it much. It is perfect for this challenge theme.
The background is a stamp from Taylored expressions called A Life She Lived.  I used the jar of brushes to make my background. I sponged inks of Festives berries, Peeled Paint, and Salty Ocean over it, after heat embossing with white. The stamp is MFT Crafty Friends.
I left the inside blank, but this will make a great Birthday card for one of my crafty friends.
I have met so many kind and amazing crafty people in this business. How could I not be happy?

Please check out the blog for more ideas Here

Happy Thanksgiving!
Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2022!

Double D Challenge - Trees

Thanksgiving will be here soon, and this year we will be able to share it with family and friends. Gathering around the table is a good memory I have of past years. I think of cool weather and bonfires and walks in the woods where there are fall-colored leaves. Darlene must have been thinking along those lines when she chose this theme for this challenge.  It's a great mood board and I took it just a bit farther and added snow to my scene.

Here is the card that I did.

Supplies for this card are: Memory Box dies, Deer in the Woods, Tall Birch, and
Resting Birds.
I used GKD ink in Ocean Mist to ink the background and her Prismatic Glitter.  The bird is die cut from red foil card stock. It looks black in my photo and you can't really see the glitter.

The is the prize for a random winner.

Now head over to Double D to see what the team is up to.

Double D Challenge - A Walk in the Woods

Diane had me stumped for this first Challenge of November at Double D.  She has titled it A Walk in the Woods. The inspiration board has good ideas, but I was coming up short......until! I decided that I could create my own scene in the woods.

Here is the card that I created.

Supplies:  PTI In the woods die, (I am off to a good start) Then I cut and colored MFT stamp called Harvest Mice. So cute, The rolling hills with a fence in the background is Die-Namics, with the same name. I cut a second frame and put the mice inside and popped them up.  There is lots of texture and definition. I really like how this card turned out and I will use it for a fall or Thanksgiving card.

Look who adorable this die-cut is for the prize on this challenge. It could be yours!

Something New and Something Old

Today I have made a card from some very old dies and stamps and one new die. I do love leaves as evidenced by all of the stamps and dies that I have. Unfortunately, I left them here in Florida. I must change that and bring some north when I go.  The trick is to remember that come May. Since I am here now, I am using them to the fullest.

New die from Altenew called Diamond Frame Cover Die
Paper Trey Ink Dies that I have had for a long time.
Leaf Silhouette Die and Enclosed Leaf die and stamp. No longer available.
I used Gina K Designs ink called Tangerine Twist and gold papers and embossing
     powder.
I wish you could see the gold better

I am entering this card in the following challenges.
The Paper Players     PP565 Tic Tac Toe ( last column on the right)
Color Hues Challenge   Brown and Orange
Just Us Girls Challenge Wild Card Leaves
The Four Seasons Challenge    Anything goes Fall

Seize the Birthday Challenge #226 - Make a Sunset Scene

Colleen has chosen the theme for this challenge.  Just make a scene or
if you are not a toppings kind of crafter, just make sure it is a birthday card.

Here is my card.

I decided to make my card a late sunset scene and wanted to do a sun that we recently saw in the sky. I used a circle die to cut a sun in the center on a large sticky note and used that for a mask.
GKD Dusty Rose
Distressed In Dried Marigold and Weather Wood
The Stamp is GKD Tall Pines, By the Sea 2 for the birds
GKD Master Layouts 1 and Double Stitched Ovals
Buzz words from Honey Bee Stamps for the sentiment.

Paper Players Challenge 546

A new challenge for me.  My friend Nancy Leppek is a guest host t Paper Players.  I find that I have some time on my hands. What do I do with that?  I make a card. It is the sketch challenge for this week.

I pretty much stuck with the sketch as you can see by my card below.

GKD Chocolate Brown card base and panels of Coral Reef.
My friend Judy Woodland pointed out that I use gray a lot.  This card is for her. Lol
I used an embossing folder on the panels called Flower Pod by Darice
The Greetery Autumn word die cut three times from gold and the Botanicuts Wheat Die
The circle was a scrap from my box of a background that didn't work out. I am glad that I saved it
as it works now.

Finally a leaf card!

I do love the fall and all of the beautiful colors.  Of course, there are many things that you can color to represent the fall, like pumpkins and trees and gourds. But I didn't have a leaf stamp and die with me in Wisconsin.  I had a very nice one in Florida.  I guess that when something is unavailable, it makes you want it more. Well, that was my excuse. So after arriving at our winter home and getting my SCR (southern Craft Room) set up, I made a card. Are you surprised?

Gray cardstock
Paper Trey Ink Stamp and die, Leaf Prints
Gina K Stencil, Thick Brush
Distress Oxide ink, Speckled Egg
Simon Says sentiment
Glitter

I am entering this card in these Challenges.
                                       Four Season Challenge Anything Goes

Double D Challenge - Sunflowers

Darlene is our hostess for this challenge in October. Don't you just love these sunflowers that she has for our inspiration?  Sunflowers are just awesome and the flower of fall.

Here is the card that I made for this challenge.

I used two oldies but goodies.  As a matter of fact, this sunflower is my favorite and I have used it many times. It is Gina K Designs Stately Flowers 5 by Melanie Muenchinger and it is still available. I also used a cover plate from Paper Trey Ink called Sunflower. It is cut and I  adhered to a base card stock Skeleton Leaves from GKD. The sunflower in the small panel is heat embossed in white. I used GKD master layouts one. The sentiment is Tayored Expressions Simple Strips.
A few teardrops from my stash.
I managed to make a sunflower without using yellow!

Today's prize offering is: a 6X6 Stencil.  You could be a winner if you enter.

You have two weeks to play.  Please take a look at the team on the Double D Blog

Color Hues - Red and Kraft #28

A quick post here as I need to be packing.  We leave for the winter months in Florida where I will hook up with some of my crafting buddies/ good friends.
I love this color combination and could not resist. Unfortunately, I only had what I left behind and what was on my desk to create.
Here is my card.

I love the texture that the die-cut gives.
