Are you ready for a new Challenge this month?

Here it is. Glenda has chosen Square Card!

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just

stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!

I have been making square cards a lot lately,
so this was not a problem.
The decision of what to do was more the challenge.
Here is my card.

Supplies for this card are: Altenew stamp and die Beautiful Day
Gina K card stock in white and Turquoise Sea
Embossing folder from cuddle bug Weeks Weave
Gina K  ink in Tranquil Sea, Sea Glass, Grass Green, and Fresh Asparagus
MFT Happy Die and sentiment from Clearly Besotted, crystals from my stash.

Have to make that square envelope too. That is in the background here.
I am using up most of the 12 X 12 paper.

Check out the Surprise Party Guest and all of the other team designs at

Thanks for stopping by to see more.  I hope that you enjoyed it and
are motivated to make a square card. It's easy!

Creative confetti - Make it with Metal

This week will be a quick post and I have to run off to take my grandson to soccer practice.  He made the High School team.  Proud Grandma!

I just happen to have been working on a card because I wanted to for fun. That card with a small addition, qualified for this challenge.  I  added a charm on a ribbon that I have had for ages.  Not sure how old it is but glad to be able to use it in this way. Here is my card.

This is the digital dahlia from Power Poppy.  I had been working to master the Gimp program for my many Digis from Power Poppy and this was one of them. I am still working on the mastering part.  This flower was colored with Copic Markers and white colored pencil. I added the embossing folder to the background die-cut for texture.  The die is Mariann Designs Anjas Square.  Then the charm on a ribbon and the die-cut leaves from Memory Box Lorelai Leaf. It is all on Gina K card stock called Warm Cocoa.
Thanks for stopping in and hope you have a great weekend.  Love your comments.

Creative Confetti - One Challenge 3 Ways

Where I live, it sure has been feeling like fall!  It's still August, but I do love the fall colors and the cooler temperatures. This week Julie is asking to do her challenge and gave us 3 different ways to accomplish that. Check those out here.
I chose #1 Choose nature as your inspiration.

I have been wanting to color this digital stamp set and this is the first opportunity. Here is my card.
For this card, I printed out the Olive and Oak digital image from Power Poppy on X-press it paper.  I die cut the oval with a spellbinder die and matted it on a larger oval white die.  I used my favorite Copic markers to color the image and then mounted it on a base of Gina K Charcoal Brown with a layer of Neutral Corrugate from DCWV.  I love the texture that it gives. The sentiment is from another stamp set called Planning for Magnolias. I used gold embossing power on the sentiment to match the gold cord from Gina K.
I went back to do a lot of shading which brings out the olives and oak so well.
I will be entering this in the Creative Confetti Challenge for this week.

As always, I sure appreciate your comments.

Double D Challenge - Pearls, Gems or Diamonds

Team Darlene is hosting this challenge for the next two weeks.
It is called Pearls, Gems and Diamonds and here is some inspiration for you.

Use any or all of them on your card.

Here is my card for you.
This was my chance to use some bling that I recently purchased.  Can you guess what it is?  Right, it is Gina K Design's Glitz Glitter Gel in Turquoise. I applied it with a stencil from her, called Water Droplets. I used the matching Turquoise Sea card stock and matching envelope too. The sentiment is from You Get Me stamp set and stamped on an ivory panel die cut with a Stitched Mini Scalloped Rectangle.  I added some Gems from my stash.
If you enter this challenge you have a chance to win this prize.

Please visit the Double D challenge blog to see more of the inspiration that
the team has done for you.
Thanks for visiting my blog and for the comments that I appreciate.

Creative Confetti - Make it Shimmer

This week at Power Poppy, Julie has asked that we make it shimmer.  I was thinking that I should start thinking about my Christmas cards and printed out this digital image called Merriest Berries.
Here it is.

I colored up the image with Copic markers and then added Spectrum Noir Sparkle to it all.  The berries are covered with glossy accents and then more sparkle over the top. I fussy cut it out and placed it on a die-cut panel. The background panel is from MFT Country Plaid 6X6 paper. A few sequins from my stash. Sentiments outside and inside are from Poinsettia set.

Sparkle is always hard to capture with a camera.  Here is a little better view of the shimmer.
I will be adding this to the wonderful entries at Creative Confetti for this week.
Thanks for stopping by!  I got one Christmas card done!
Love your comments!

Seize the Birthday #172 - Butterflies

For this challenge at Seize the Birthday, it was my turn to pick a topping.  I picked one that you will find fun and you probably have done a lot of them.  So why don't you kick it up a notch and do something out of your comfort zone? I did!

The toppings are for this challenge.

"Butterflies"

If you're not a toppings kind of  person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

Please welcome, Su Mohr our Surprise Party Guest for
July and August.

You can find her blog here.

Here is the card that I did for this challenge.
Used the Simon Says background stamp in white embossing powder and heat set it.  Then colored the panel with Distressed Inks in Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint and Shaded Lilac.  Then I die cut that background panel with Penny Black Antique Frames die. The butterfly is from GKD Stately Flowers and I stamped them on watercolor paper and used watercolors to bring them to life. If you look closely, there are some Nuvo drops in clear here and there.

Creative Confetti - Let's get Krafty

This week the challenge was easy for me as I had already done a colored pencil on kraft paper and it fits this week's challenge at Creative Confetti.

On Monday of this week, Amy Shulke posted an Inspire Me.  Did you see it, if not click HERE and scroll down until you see it. It was amazing and I gave it a try.  Here is my card.

I used my colored pencils and a few Copic markers.  I had some of the ones that Amy used.  It was fun to see how she did the coloring and how I could do one too.  I am certain that I could not do one on my own and get the shadows and the shine on the glass right. It was easy when you have a great teacher.

Here is another view, please notice the envelope that I made to go with this card as it is a 5X5 square card and needed an envelope.
This will be entered in the Creative Confetti Challenge for this week.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day and thanks for the comments.

Well here it is August and it is time for another challenge from Double D.

This card was sent to my son months ago when he got a new job.  Inside it says, can do amazing things. By now it is probably on his refrigerator, or somewhere else.
Lol, I wish I had taken a picture of the inside.
Oh Look, I found a picture of the inside.
I used a lot of things to make this card, here they are:
MFT Tucan Do It Stamp and dies
MFT Tropical Flowers
Die Namics Stitched Rounded Rectangles. (inside)
Memory Box Weeping Willow branches.
Cloud Stencil
So now it is your turn and I can't wait to see what you will come up with.

I made this card for you a very long time ago.  It was a newer stamp and I was itching to make it into a card.  I used the stamp and die set called Flourishing Fuchsias.  Don't you love this mysterious and beautiful flower?
Here is my card.

It was fun to die cut some of the flowers and leaves and pop them out for more dimension.
