Seize the Birthday - Black and White only

Welcome to another great challenge here at Seize the Birthday!

Our "Toppings" option this time is...
Black and White only!

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!
The choice is yours!
This challenge was my idea and the theme is black and white.  Boy I really really wanted to add some color to this card as I was making it, but I stuck to the theme and I really like what I got.
Using the wreath builder form Gina K Designs made it easy to do. Here it is.

When making a square card, it needs an envelope and I have a memory keeper envelope maker for that. I made this matching one.
Be sure to see what the other designers at Seize the Birthday have done for inspiration and please don't forget our Surprise Party Guest, Julie Beech.
Thanks for stopping in and I certainly appreciate your comments.

Seize the Birthday - Stamping Only

Welcome to another great challenge here at Seize the Birthday!

Stamping Only

Here is my card using stamping only.
I got some inspiration from Pinterest on this card.   This is the stamp from Technique Tuesday called Sunflower and GKD cardstock, in Sweet Mango and Tangerine Twist.  The leaves are an Altenew stamp, Golden Garden. Some black gingham ribbon from my stash.  I added the dashed lines on the white background and the oval is a stitched die.
You must see what the team has done for you Here
and also our Surprise Party Guest,  Julie.

Creative Confetti - Let's go Half and Half!

Every week Power Poppy has a new challenge, but they all go into the mix for a month. At the end of the month, a random winner is chosen.  This week we are to go half and half.  You can split your card into two colors or go more dramatic and go dark to light. There was no question that I was thinking more dramatic for my card.  See what you think.

This is a digital stamp Blossoming Cherry, that I really made large and bold and then printed it out on white card stock.  I will have several cards from this printing.  I colored them with markers and then covered half with two layers of vellum. That gave me a more subdued look.  I used a spellbinder die that I often use called A2 curved  borders and used just the scallop to define the edge more.  All of this was layered on a panel of Chocolate Brown and the on a base of white card stock.

A quick wash of distressed ink in Broken China for the background. Then I added the sentiment from Power Poppy Small but Mighty Affirmations.

I will be entering this in Creative Confetti for this week.

Thanks for stopping in, I hope that you enjoyed my card as I enjoy your comments.

Creative Confetti Challenge Old or New

Catching up on the challenge at Power Poppy from last week.  Make a card to show how you plan to live out 2019.  I don't make New Year's resolutions anymore, so I am going with the old.
That means I need to make a masculine card, according to this challenge.
I didn't have inspiration as masculine cards are a bit hard to come up with for me, so I went to Pinterest.
Here is the card that I CASE'd by Christine Okken

I used the stamp set called Play Ball, one that I have used many times
as my grandson loves all Sports.

I will be entering this in the Creative Confetti challenge.  Hope to see you there.   It seems that I have a nice collection of cards from joining in this challenge.
Thanks for all of your comments. I do appreciate them.

Double D - Looking back in Time

If you have a little trouble with the theme on this challenge, I did too.  Just dig in and do it!  After all, it is a challenge.  Here is the mood board for you.

Think old and antique things that a lot of us still remember from our childhood. I liked the set of keys and remember a stamp set from Gina K called Grateful Heart, that I could use.  Along with some antique looking paper and I had an inspirational card for you.

On the top of the background panel, I used white embossing powder to stamp the keys and sponged over with Vintage Photo Distress ink.  The bottom panel is from a 6X6 pad from My Minds Eye.  The stopwatch is an image that I printed out and fussy cut after gluing to a piece of cardstock. Of course, I used Gina K Dark Chocolate and White cardstock. I separated the two panels with a band of gold paper and made a circle ring for the keys that I fussy cut as well.  Don't you love the sentiment on this?  It is from Technique Tuesday Stamp set called Hopes and Dreams.

The prize for this challenge is

Seize the Birthday - Confetti

Welcome back to another year of Seize the Birthday challenges.  I sure hope that your holiday was great and that you enjoyed time with friends and family. Our kids came all the way from Cairo Egypt on January 1 and are here now visiting for a week.  Good thing I can write this post ahead of time, as I will be enjoying them as we speak.

When I saw this theme, I knew that I was going to do.  You see, I need a special birthday card for our oldest daughter, who will be 50 this year.  Confetti just seemed to be what would make a great special card.

I knew that I needed to be a shaker card too.  For the confetti look on the background, I used a pencil eraser and many bright inks.  A gold Happy Birthday and some gold leaves under the number 50 finished it out.

We have a Surprise Party Guest and her name is  Julie Beech!
You can find her blog here.    Welcome, Julie!

Our Challenge is "It's on the Menu."  Use anything that you might find on a menu, let your heart follow your stomach.  I found the top left picture this summer and had to send it to our team as the restaurant was called Double D.  What fun!
Here is the card that I made for your inspiration.

Gina K cardstock in Dark Chocolate, White,  Embossing powder in white
