That embossing folder!

I am lucky enough to have the Anna Griffin embossing folder
that everyone is looking for called Matelasse.
It is an old one and I remember exactly when I got it. I was at a Crafting fair in Minneapolis one weekend and had to have it. I am so glad that it was a must back then as I am having fun with it now. Before leaving Florida last week, my crafts were packed up, but I was able to emboss a bunch of card stock and design paper and just cut away. I usually listen to a pod cast while crafting and that was what I was doing. I brought them all back to Wisconsin with me and I am using one of them today.

Here is the card that I created for several challenges.

Embossing folder is Anna Griffin Matelasse, Design paper is an old pack from My Favorite Things
The flower bouquet is Paper Trey Ink, Build a Bouquet cut with cardstock from Gina K Designs called Wild Wisteria. I used some Copic markers to highlight some areas. Can you see a little bit of purple glitter in the center of some flowers. It takes a lot for me to break out the glitter. Lastly the special sentiment is from a crafty friend that some of you may remember, Kathy Krug. She would send me die cuts and I did the same for her. Sadly, we lost Kathy several years back, but I still have her die cuts. This one is from Creative Expressions.  I liked that way this turned out and It kicked started my mojo.

I will be entering this card in these challenges.

Color Hues Challenge #133 Lime and Violet

Before I pack all of the crafting supplies to sent off to Wisconsin, I pulled out some old embossing folders, and dies and a never used before stamp. I made this card to enter in the next challenge at Color Hues.

These colors are very spring like and lend themselves to flowers nicely. But my flowers where packed away, so I went searching for something else. I came across this stamp that I have not used before from Gina K called Never Lose Hope. After coloring with my Copic markers that match the colors as best I could, I fussy cut the butterflies out. Easy enough. The background is an embossing folder from Altenew called Leaves, and the much older die from Memory Box called Distress Windham Collage.
I sponged over the raise part with Stampin Up ink, Certainly Celery. I placed the memory box die (cut twice) with velum in opposite corners. I happily made gold splatters over it all before I placed the butterflies on the front. A pre made sentiment was on my desk top and I used that. The butterflies needed some gold on their wings. I am sure you saw the Gina K Master Layouts #1 as well,

Here is the card.

I will be entering this card in the current Color Hues challenge HERE

Leaving soon for Wisconsin, our summer home. See you on the other side.
Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!

Die Cut Diva's May 2026 Celebrations

I mostly make Birthday cards so this challenge was right up my alley.
I used a Spellbinder die that I have used once before, called Build a Winter Birdhouse
I just changed it to look more like Spring.  No snow on this roof top.
I added the blue birds from Little Birdies die, and the cuttle bug embossing folder
Woodgrain with some enhancements.  Some ink smudging and dots.
The Rain Dots are something that I have had for a long time and
I just thought it was time to use them here.

I put eyelashes on one of the blue birds. Lol

This card will be entered the the Die cut Divas. May Challenge called Celebrations.

Come on over and enter a Celebrations card.

Die cut Divas - April Challenge.

This is a new to me challenge called Die Cut Diva's. I became aware of it from one the entries to Seize the Birthday Challenge, Loll.  This challenge sounded interesting and I set out to make a card to enter. I had the time, I thought, but the day got busy and it came right down to the wire.

The Challenge is to make an Anniversary or Birthday Card.

Altenew is the sponsor with a $30 gift card to the random winner

Here are the cards that I made.

I made birthday cards as Altenew is celebrating a birthday.
Supplies for these two cards made from one embossing folder are:
Altenew Zero-Waste Flowery Pattern
After embossing and coloring I took a scissors to the design and cut it into two. (pretty daring move I must say)
On the card on the left I also used a Swiss dot embossing folder
and on the right, an Altenew Dotty Circles folder.
Sentiments are Gina K

It was daring, but I got two different looking cards.
I an entering these in the Challenge Here

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!

April Pink Fresh 2026 Challenge

This challenge is an Anything Goes challenge. We are encouraged to get inspiration anywhere.

Can you tell if the base of this card is white or is it blue?
Using the Twisted Pattern die from Pink Fresh ,I cut it in white, and used the die to emboss the die into the blue . Because I wanted as much texture on my background I did this.
Then I took each arch in white and sponged the edges with blue to give it more depth. I liked the look.

This is one of the arches with the sponged edge. Next I glued them on place on the background.

Next I added the Be Fearless flowers made with the stamp, die and stencil from Pink Fresh
The sentiment is from Sunshine On My Mind, also Pink Fresh
Gems are from my stash.

I am entering this card in the Pink Fresh 2026 April Challenge.

Check out the challenge yourself.

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!
