Timeless Tuesday #245: Negative Energy

Negative energy is the challenge here this Tuesday at Flourishes. I am feeling a little negative after the Packer loss last night. Sure hope Aaron Rogers gets better. What they mean here about negative energy is to use the negative of a die. Well, that I can do! I made the rounds of our craft stores last Friday and got a sale item that I wanted to try out. It is called Pearlized Mica Fragments. They are shimmery little pieces that will stick to CS when used with embossing powder.
That is how I used them.

I started with a base of Moonlit Fog, then a layer of black, another layer of moonlit fog that had a scalloped oval cut out. ( negative die cut) Behind that there is red CS that has gold embossing powder with the Mica chips heated on it. A very festive look. Then I stamped the Winter Berries onto white CS and colored it with Copics. Next, I fussy cut it out. Yes I did! I was listening to country music and before you know it, it was all cut out. That image was draped across the card and I gold embossed the sentiment on the bottom.

I am entering this card in the Timeless Tuesday Challenge #245 at Flourishes.

Hope you enjoy looking, and hope that you join in the fun. Seriously!

  4. Barbara, A tip...Country music can make us do crazy things like that...I remember an all-nighter in my craft room one year listening to that wonderful music and getting the majority of my Christmas cards done. I went to bed just as Dave got up! Back to seriousness here, love your card and I'm glad you were listening to Country music because your "fussy" cut of that beautiful branch was worth it! Gorgeous coloring too.

  6. Wow, love that stuff. I bet it's even prettier IRL. Your card is lovely...that sprig across the negative space is so stunning. Well done, can't wait to see what else you do with the mica fragments.
