Mod Squad - Word Challenge - Holiday

Mod Squad - Word Challenge - Holiday
My friend Sharyn Polesel is hosting the challenge this week at the Mod Squad.
She chose Holiday! Any holiday, and she made cards for Halloween.
I typically do not do Halloween cards, but Sharyn motivated me.  I don't have many stamp sets for Halloween.  So I got out the old Stampin Up ones, and dusted them off.  Never get rid of anything!
I ended up making 6 cards.  I needed 4, but could not stop once I got going. Lol
Here is the first one.

I made this one with the help of my cameo.  Remember I didn't have many Halloween stamps.

Here is the inside of this card.  The image is from Tiddly inks.  Cute little witch, and I made her broom from a que tip and some thread.

The front has die cuts from my cameo and a printed sentiment from my computer. There is some Halloween ribbon from my stash too.
I think that my granddaughter, Ava will love this one.

This one is for my grandson Dylan.  I think he will just love this scary cat from Simon says.  Inside is a ghost with one of those Wobbles and it just says BOO!

This card is pretty much a CASE that Kristina Werner did.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I really do appreciate any comments.  No tricks!

Make It Monday #180: Paper Weaving

We have been having some great fall days here.  Sunny and crisp, makes you think of apple picking and pie baking and, of course pie eating. Well, I did bake some apples with cinnamon and served them with cool whip ( fat free).  Good, but not the same as apple pie a la mode!  Oh well, I just keep making these cards and it keeps me out of the refrigerator.  Sometimes!

Make it Monday has a challenge using paper weaving and I have use some vellum that I had.  The vellum has an embossed design in it and I colored it with some fall colors.  Yellow, gold and green.
Then I cut strips and did the weaving.  I mounted that on a piece of orange CS that was in my stash, and then on a base of sand. The orange was die cut with a spellbinder die with lots of holes.  So I decided to do a whip stitch around with brown embroidery floss.  I also added some gingham ribbon on the bottom.  The greeting is from PTI Wet paint II stamps set.  I was able to make a cut file with my cameo.  Do you see the blood sweat and tears on it?  Well good thing, because it did almost cry.  I spend a lot of time with tech support, but finally got it. That is another story!!!
Here is the card.

Thanks so much for stopping to look!

Just Us Girls #258 - Trend Week and Mod Squad challenge

It is Water color for this card and for JUGS this week.  So I tried my talent at water coloring.  I used distressed inks and a die cut from vellum for the BG.  After coloring, I splattered gold and chartreuse Color shine on the image.
The stamp is Delightful Dahlia from PTI, CS is GKD.
Then added a banner for the greeting.  That was also cut out with a matching die.  It really has a Spring look rather that the fall day that we are having today. Yesterday, it felt like winter. It got down to 40 degrees overnight.  Burr!
I am also entering this card in the Mod Squad challenge, which just
requires the use of stripes.  There you go!  Strips I got!

Ok, there is still time for all of you  guys that don't like football to enter these challenges.  I have to go and catch the 3:30 game.
 Go Pack!

Make It Monday #179: Emboss Resist Using Diecuts

Make It Monday #179: Emboss Resist Using Diecuts

A quick post today, I made a card for my son and daughter-in-law's anniversary.  They are still newly weds, as this is their 4th anniversary.  I combined the card with a challenge, over at Make it Monday.
The challenge is to use a die and emboss resist technique.  This die is one that I created myself and I used Versamark to adhere the gold powder.  Then sponged with several distress inks, all in blue.  That panel is layered on a gold panel and then on a white base.  All CS is from GKD.  For the sentiments, I used Wet Paint and Wet Paint III, from PTI.  I hung the word with gold thread and finished with some gold stars and, of course, a red heart.

Happy Anniversay, Chad and Lindsey, Love you guys!

I have to go, I need to shop for a new car this afternoon.  I am really nervous and excited.  Glad that I have my hubby to help.  It has been a lot of years since I have done this.  It never gets easy.

Thanks for all of your sweet comments.  I do appreciate them!

Poppy Stetch #12 and Power Poppy

I am entering this card in both the Poppy Stetch #12 using the sketch and the colors, Garnet, Plumeria Pink and Sand.
Power Poppy challenge, using any Power Poppy stamp.

This is a digital stamp called Countryside Bouquet.  I enlarged it and only used part of it.  It is colored with various pink and garnet Copics.  I just left the leaves uncolored.  The focal panel is put on a Sand base (GKD) that has a layer of vellum over it.  You can see the fine leave design.  Along the top is a panel that is a border die cut into it for the sketch.  Last, is a new die for the greeting called Frames and it is from SSS. I will be using this one a lot, it has a delicate frame around it.  The Sentiment is from another stamp set from Power Poppy called Azalea.  You can almost see the Wink of Stella on the large flower.
A little different angle of the same card.

This is my second post today, so I will make it short.
Thanks, as always for stopping and if you care to leave a comment, I much appreciate them.

Just Us Girls #257 WORD WEEK!

The word for this challenge is Leaves.  Well, I had already done this card using Gorjuss stamp Ruby.  I stamped her once and decided that I would do it again, but this time, without the cat on her lap.  It worked out well and this is what I started with.
She is water colored with Distress inks and Then I added leaves.  Long story here.
I used an embossing folder with leaves, and water color paper and inks.  Once that was put thru my Big Shot, I didn't like it.  That lead to fussy cutting some of them out and adding more color and then I added then to the top of the image, as though she was swinging from a tree.  There is Wink of Stella on the leaves, and I wish you could see the card.  I found the tiniest buttons in my stash.

Here is Ruby without the cat on her lap.  How to use your stamps in different ways, got me thinking outside the box.

So glad you stopped by to take a look, I hope you have a great day, as the card says.

Mod Squad Challenge Blog

Mod Squad Challenge is certainly a challenge this week!  That's why they call them challenges.  Go figure! Anyway, Karen was chosen a holiday card but you must use Vellum & Acetate or Clear Plastic Sheets.  Not so easy!  My first attempt was a total mess.  I ended up my wiping off the ink and starting over.  I watch a few you tube videos to get this one completed, but I do like how it turned out.  Next challenge is to photograph it.  It was a bright sunny day today and my reflection showed in three of the four pictures that I took.  I was wearing hot pink and boy did that look weird.  This one was the best.

Here is what I used.
GKD Charcoal Brown ink and  CS
GKD stamp set, Espically for You and Harvest of Wishes
Stazon Buttercream ink
Acetate, distressed Antique Linen ink, copic markers.
Bakers twine,  vellum tag, embossed acorns.  I used the Charcoal brown ink and clear embossing powder.
There is a panel inside for a greeting that is hidden by the front panel..

Not an easy challenge Karen, but once done..... I feel so Creative!  Thanks for the challenge.

Make it Monday #178 and Simon Says Wednesday

Make it Monday is a Back to School card an Easel card.  Such a cute and easy idea.  You can use any die to cut the bottom of an A2 card for the easel shape.  On this card, I used the lattice rectangle for the bottom and the shape on the front.  The front panel is vellum and it is embossed with black.  The flower is from Delightfully Dahlias stamp set, PTI.  Greeting is from Harvest Berries, also PTI.  Wink of Stella on the flower and some black rhinestones to embellish.  I finished with a matching envelope.

I am also entering this card in STAMPtember® ‘Stamp-It’

Busy weekend coming up for me.  I hope you all enjoy yours too!
Really enjoy all of the comments as always!

Sparkely Gold Fall Leaves

I have gold glitter all over my craft room!  It must be fall.  I'm not quite ready for the weather, but oh so ready to make fall cards.  The colors are so vibrant, Mother Nature sure knew what she was doing!

I am entering this card in these challenges.
Simon Says Challenge: Boldly go into STAMPtember!
Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Lovely Leaves
STV MIUM Fall-Color on Color Emboss Resist

I used a heavy base CS of Ivory, and embossed the leaves from the Grateful Heart stamp set, with gold glitter embossing powder.  Then sponged the BG with distress inks.  Peeled paint, mustard seed and rusty hinge.  If you are careful and heat the embossing powder well, the glitter does now come off when you wipe the colors off.  It still resists the color, but I did go back and put a little more on where it was needed.  I pasted panels of DP from the Grateful Hearts pattern pack.  The Greeting is a die from Simon Says called Big Thanks.  It has a swirly tail that I cut off, and will use as a flourish inside the card.
Grateful Heart stamp and papers are from GKD.

I made a matching envelope from the many stacks of scrapbook papers that I have.  In this case there was a flower border that I left on.  I thought it was cute.  The little heart covers up a punch hole.

A close up of the embossed gold glitter leaves.
Thanks for stopping to take a look at my entries in this weeks challenges.  As always, I appreciate your comments.

WILDCARD WEEK #256 at Just Us Girls

WILDCARD  WEEK #256  Anything other than
a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 sized card!

I cut out a round card base of Kraft CS with my cameo.  Then added a layer of Melon CS and embossed it with Cuttlebug EF called Cherry Blossom.  More Cameo cutting of maple leaves on Ivory CS.  I used Distress markers on the leaves to make then look like fall.  The colors that I used are, peeled paint, wild honey, and rusty hinge.  I heat embossed the greeting with gold embossing powder, using the greeting from A year of Leaves, my first purchase from GKD.  I only used part of the greeting, something I learned from the last online card class.  The AMAZING is from My Favorite Things, Simply Fabulous Sayings.  The little acorn is from the same GKD stamp set.  Also embossed with gold.  I hope you can see the Wink of Stella that adds a shimmer to the leaves and acorn.
I am entering this in the JUGS challenge this week.  Still plenty of time for you to enter too.
Thanks for stopping and have a great day.
