Make it Monday #205

Make it Monday #205  CONFETTI CLUSTER STAMPING

This is a fun technique and one that I had been looking for.  When you want to make a card for a special occasion, like a special birthday, and you want the number to be subliminal and not the focal point.  This was what I wanted to accomplish for this card.  A special birthday is not often something that you wanted to be reminded of.  Like the 30th or the 40th or the 60th, get what I mean?

You can see the technique HERE where Lizzie Jones shows you how to do it.

                                                       Here is my card

I started with a base of Sand cardstock and then a layer of Wild Lilac from GKD
On Vanilla cardstock, I lightly traced the number 40 with pencil.  Then stamped my heart out with all of the mini stamps that I found on the PTI Shakers and Sprinkles stamp set. I used so many different colors, because I wanted the birthday card to be festive.  I probably could have planned out the colors better.  Using Gold Colorshine, I sprayed lots onto the background, after erasing the pencil marks.
The Happy Birthday die is from Simon Says and was cut out of purple foil and purple cardstock and all adhered together. It really "pops" out when applied to the card that way.  There are some very small sequins sprinkled all over too.

Here is a good view of the greeting and how it "pops" and the more subdued number 40.
I will be entering this in the Make it Monday challenge this week.

I do very much love that you stop in to see what I have done, and even leave a comment.

Thanks,
