CASEing a Genius

Kelly Latevola is celebrating her one year anniversary with a challenge. You can find all of the instructions Here
I chose Lindsey Amrhein to CASE.  There were so many ones with beautiful cards to CASE, but the one that Lindsey did really caught my eye and I thought it was one that I could do.

CASEing Genius: Lindsay Amrhein  You can find her  BLOG  here

Here is the card that I did to CASE Lindsey.

I used some designer paper from SU and stamped the  flowers and leaves from Summer Garden stamp from Simon Says,  then colored with Copic markers.  I  cut the HUGS die from PTI and layered it times three and placed it back in the negative.  Look hard to see it in the picture.

Here is another view.

Part of this challenge is to nominate someone for a future genius.  I have been a admirer of  another card maker for some time and I would like to nominate her.  I don't think that she will be surprised as I usually say that I want to be just like her, when I grow up.  Her name is Sharyn Polesel and here is her blog.  http://www.mycraftyplace281.blogspot.com/    Check it out!

Thanks to everyone who stops by to see my entry in this challenge.  I love the comments that you may care to leave.

  1. Oh my gosh, i can see why you would want to case this card. Love what you did with your card. the paper is perfect with the flowers. and as always your coloring is beautiful. One of the reasons I enjoy working with dies so much is that I can't color.

  2. This card is awesome Barbara! I am so glad you played along! I never think to stamp an image unto DP and then color it! I really love the subtle and almost vintage feel. Great job my friend and great nomination too! HUGS!

  3. Ditto what Nancy said. Stamping on DP is genius, why haven't I seen this before. Your card is awesome, I love everything about it!!! And you have nominated another genius - very well deserved!!!

  4. Beautiful card, Barbara! I love the DP and the stamping is lovely too.....wonderful colors. Thanks so much for nominating me. I am honored, my friend.

  5. Beautiful card, beautiful case, beautiful crafter to nominate! ;)

  6. Great take on the CASE! The colors are wonderful and I like that idea of layering the sentiment and placing it right back into the same slot. Looks awesome that way!

  7. Those blooms are gorgeous Barbara! I love the bit of pattern in the background, really beautiful!
