Sponged stamping and make your own background

Today's card will be entered in these two challenges.

Make it Monday #242 Sponged stamping Here
Simon Says Monday  Make your own background Here

To make this card, I started with a piece of Gina K Design light weight white paper.  I stamped the feather after stamping off once.  Then added the circles and the yellow birds.  Dry embossed the entire panel with Stitched cover plate from PTI.
Cut a die tag from Lil' Inkers, out of the Stormy Sea card stock, and place it in the middle.
After doing the sponged stamping on the feathers and the bird, I used matching dies to cut them out.
This panel was placed on  Bright Buttercup, and then on Stormy Sea.

Here is a better look at the sponging that Dawn shows in her video.  I used Stormy Sea, then Aqua Mist and last Bright Buttercup.  The added dots are in black.  The bird has Stormy Sea and Raspberry Fizz.

Supplies used:  Gina K design card stack in white
PTI card stock in Stormy Sea and Bright Buttercup, and matching inks, and Aqua Mist and Raspberry Fizz.  Stitched cover plate from PTI.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I do each day.  I love the comments that you take time to leave.

  1. This is a real beauty. I love the feather set and you make me want to play with it again. The black panel is the perfect shape and size to show off the pretty feathers and the tag underneath the bird makes it look like he just flew in with the greeting. Great idea to use the cover plate as an embossing panel.

  2. Oh geez, I was thinking about using that stamp set, but you beat me to it. I LOVE the colors you have used, really pretty. Especially the bird, I never us the bird in that set for some reason, but it's really cute. Now to go search my other stuff...I better get crackin'. Your card is awesome!!! Oh, and by the way, using the yellow in this is GENIUS!!!!
