What The Doodle in Gold

It has been awhile since I have made a card and done a post.  I found that when I was away from crafting for awhile, ( 19 days)  I got a little rusty.  I have made three cards and this is the first one that was even close to Challenge worthy.  The others will be used, but not my best.
I started out watching Make it Monday #245 with Ashley to see what she was doing.  She called her challenge Color Isolation, quite interesting as I had not heard of that before. It actually is quite easy once you get an idea.  I'm getting right to it.

 Here is what I used.
What the Doodle stamp and die from Paper Trey Ink
PTI fine linen and white card stock
Distress ink in Antique Linen and PTI Hybrid ink in New Canvas
Ranger gold embossing powder
Gold Wink of Stella pen
Simon Says Frames dies
Poppystamps die  Lorelai Leaf Outline

I stamped the small butterfly and flowers with antique linen, but added some interest in one area.  The butterfly under the greeting is stamped twice.  First with New Canvas and then with Antique Linen. I wish I had continued doing that with the rest of the card.  Maybe next time.

I am also entering this card in these challenges.

  3. This is so pretty Barbara! Love that stamp in gold embossing. Looks great against that neutral background and with the scallop border and die cut open leaves.

  4. Beautiful card. Love the butterfly embossed in gold and over the leaves. Great background stamping too. Glad you are back in your craft room.

  5. Your card is GORGEOUS!!! LOVE those colors together, and then with that gold. I have 2 different card stocks from PTI and I love them....I think I'll be getting more. Great take on the challenge, my dear. And I'm so happy that you are back in your craft room!!!

  7. This is really beautiful! I love your stamped background and that you added that pretty white outlined leaf, adds so much against the Kraft. And your gorgeously outlined in gold butterfly, WOW....isn't that fantastic?!?! FabUlous job with this technique! Happy back to crafting, glad you're home! xo (my card is oh so BORING!) :)

  8. I don't think your break from crafting made you "rusty" at all because this card is lovely, especially with the gold accents.

  11. This is gorgeous and I really love this set!

  12. Beautiful! I love the elegance that the gold EP adds!

  13. If this is an example of you being "rusty," then I hope to see more of your rustiness! :) I really like what you did with this card. I think the metallic touches give it such a wonderful air of sophistication and I really like how your central butterfly reflects the subtle background butterflies. Great work and I'm so glad you shared it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

  14. Your butterfly is stunning! Love the white and gold with the kraft.
