Background Building

This was more fun than I though it would be.  I love how this looks in the background.  It adds a lot of texture and design to a card.  Amy Sheffer at Paper Trey Ink showed us how to do this technique. Take a look for yourself. It also prompted me ot organize my stamps and dies from PTI so I can easily see what I had to work with.
This is the card that I completed today.

I love the rich look of the color and the subtle design on the background.  I also added texture to the inside.

To accomplish the background building, I cut the die from Quilted Spring and clipped out the circle leaving me with a square frame.  I cut a second one the same way and used both the inside circle and the frame on the base.  Then added some cut and colored leaves from the Leaf Prints set.  So glad I did doubles and had them ready to go for another card.  You can never have enough leaves this time of year, right?  A bit of gold twine, sequins and a die cut "HI" from gold card stock. The base is PTI Terracotta Tile card stock.
