Double D Challenge - Moon and Stars

We are half way through August and soon all of the kids/grandkids will be going back to school.  Boy, how this summer has gone by so fast.  I feel like I was back in school and dreading the start of the new school year.  I guess that means that this summer has been busy and we have had a lot of fun.

I sure hope that you have some time for this challenge as it was a fun one and there is a prize as always.  The mood board for this one is fabulous and I took my inspiration from the upper left panel.
I started with a Sue Wilson Die, Australian Collection background.  This was actually for another card that I ended up not using.  On the front panel, I used Distress Ink in Salty Ocean and Black Soot to make my night sky.  Then I used two stencils that I had with GKD white ink to add the moon and the stars.  The Stencil for the stars was one that I made a while ago on my Cameo.

This little fairy is from My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Fairy Girl.  I colored her up and used pop dots to add her to the front of the card.  All of the stars have Wink Of Stella on them along with her wings. Another fun and easy card to make.  It will go in my stash for a future birthday card.
Here is the prize for this challenge.

Thanks for your comments, they sure do make my day. Enjoy!

  5. So sweet! Love the beautiful die cuts and your sweet little girl. The night sky is lovely. Our Indiana grandkids went back to school the first week of August and our Florida grandkids went back this week. Can't believe summer is almost over.

  6. Oh, Barb, what an amazing background and night sky! It's gorgeous, and what a darling little gal! Such a sweet card! Sounds like you've had a good summer with the grands. It sure did fly by quickly, but we are now in the height of hurricane season and summer is still with us quite a while. But we love it! Hugs! xoxo

  11. Barbara, your moon and stars background is so ethereally beautiful. Love the way you combined the two stencils and sponged with white for a softer look. And the little fairy girl is so sweetly adorable. It's been a busy summer for us, too. We just returned yesterday from another trip. Always on the go and always catching up when we're home!
