CAS Mix up Challenge for September 2026

I recently entered a card in the CAS Mix Up Challenge, and I was absolutely thrilled
when I found out that I won! 🎉

Even better, I was invited to be a Guest Designer for September! 🥳

I can’t tell you how excited and honored I am to join this talented group of crafters. I’m looking forward to sharing some creativity, having lots of fun, and hopefully inspiring you along the way.

So, let’s get started and have some fun with it! ✂️💖🎨

Remember to keep it CAS ( Clean and Simple)

The challenge for September is Sunflower and Watercolor

My proud badge for this month.

Here is the card that I did for this month's challenge.

A better view and the inside.

Because I don't do watercolor often, I chose to clear emboss the image to help to keep the color inside the lines. It was a great help. First stamp in black and then used clear embossing power to heat set it.
The image of the sunflower and the sentiment is from Gina K . (oldie but goodie)
It was called Stately Flowers 5.  I went right to it for this card.

I used my Arteza pens in Bumblebee Yellow, Orange, Autumn Red,
Crocodile Green and Green tea.
My Posca white pen was used for the white dots.
The black border was Gina K Master Layouts 1
In the very bottom left corner, I used a stencil from my stash.

HERE is where you can find the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!

  1. Beautiful sunflower Barb!! I often heat emboss the outline before watercolouring. I saves me all kinds of grief. :) This is really beautifully coloured and I LOVE the stenciled leaves in the corner. Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer this month at CAS Mix Up!! xx

  2. This is a very pretty watercoloured sunflower image Barbara and the litle bit of stencilling in the corner balances out the other side of the flower with the lovely sentiment, and I can see that you have placed another sunflower inside too..a great idea..a terrific card. x

  3. What a lovely watercolored sunflower, Barb! I'm thinking you should watercolor more often because this turned out amazing. I've always loved that quote, too. True words. Congrats on your guest spot. You've aced this challenge beautifully!
