Lesson #8 – Color Theory: Primary Colors

 

                    

Today's lesson is Primary colors.  Those are Red, blue and Yellow.  Just those three, and with them, you can make many more colors, but that is a different lesson. 

Here is my home work.  I am not really happy with it.  It does look better in real life as it sparkles.  that is the only thing that saves this one.  So sorry that you can't see it. 

I just used the stitched stars die from MFT and cut them using the primary colors that you see.  The background is sprayed with Color Shine in Cherry Red and I also stamped the Sentiment with the Fabulous sayings from MFT, and fussy cut it out.  Added the bling with Wink of Stella and sequins.

My Favorite Things Lesson # 7

                     Lesson #7 – Color Theory: Complementary Colors

This will be a quick post today, Life is sure busy and I have lots to do today.  Including having lunch with an old friend. 

This lesson is on complimentary colors and I chose shades of red and green.  The stamp set is PI Heart Bouquet.  I also stamped flowers from a set by Gina K designs called Folk Filigree.  The border die cut is from Stamping Up.

My Favorite Things

Well, I was gone on vacation for 2 weeks and when I returned to my craft room, I found that school is back in session.  Yes siree!  Summer School again!  Yipee. 


Lesson #6 – Color Theory: Gallon/Quart/Pint
I had never heard of this before, but it sure makes sense.  Check it out Here

When combining solid colors, it’s helpful to use the gallon/quart/pint rule. Also, combining similar saturations often works best.

Here is my take on this lesson.

 

I started out with a base of White card stock and then die cut circles with the crossed stitched circle die from MFT.  The image is Green pastures and is also cut with matching die.  Her shirt is paper pieced and I have colored the rest of her with Copic markers.  I put glossy accents on her boots.  The sentiment is heat embossed with white and is from the same stamp set.  All of the papers are from Gina K Designs.  Before I adhered it all to the base, I embossed a layer of white with Tim Holtz folder that looks like sun rays.  I thought it needed some texture.  You need to look close to see that.

 

Well, that is my homework for lesson #6.  It was fun and now I am working on the next lesson.  I want to impress the teacher!  Lol

 

 

 

Mod Squad Challenge

Fast and Easy, that is the challenge for this week at the Mod Squad.  So I sipped into my craft room, dug around in my box of scraps and card stock pieces, and got going.  I used a set of dies to cut the panel that fits over the base and then stamped the poppies because it was a stamp laying on my desk. It is Poppie from Penny Black.  Colored them with Copic markers and used another stamp that has been on my desk top called, On the boardwalk by We R Memory Keepers.  Added a strip of summery design paper to the top and inside the card.  It took longer to take the picture and download it than it did to make this card.

 

 

                The paper is Cherry Red and White from Gina K Designs.

Just Us Girls #300 Celebration

I have been missing in action, but it was a good thing.  We were gone on a summer vacation.  It was amazing and I was able to check off another bucket list item.  Zip Line!  Yes it did it, seven times.  The first one was quite scary, but then I got the hang of it.  Pun intended. Lol

My friends at Just Us Girls are celebrating their 300th Challenge with word week.

This card is all lime green and gold.  Lots of gold foil and stamps that look like fireworks all done in gold.  The sentiment is embossed in gold on vellum.  It looks like black in the photo, but it is all gold.
