Power and Spark-Say Yes to No lines

This month the challenge at Power & Spark is to try the No line technique.  Oh Wow!  Something that I admire when I see it, but not so easy to recreate. OK, that is what a challenge is all about.  So I have to give it a try.  This is the first card that I have done after looking at a thousand videos.  ( not really a thousand)  But after all is done, I think that I will be doing another one soon. 

Here is the card that I finished with the no line technique

This card morphed into something completely different than I first planned.  It was going to be a flat card that could easily be mailed.  After completing design and coloring the flower, I really didn't like how the little flower was done.  I did like the large spray.  Solution, fussy cut it out.  OK, now we are on our way, but just putting it on the card front was not quite right.  So I die cut the oval.  Too much blue showing, not right.  I had these layered dies form Lori Whitlock on my desk, and thought that completed the card.  OK, now I am happy and we are on the way to posting.  All of a sudden, there appears a dark smudge on this white card.  Happens to me a lot of the time.  Don't know why, maybe smudge from my fingers.  White card stock and me just don't mix.  My usual fix is to cover it up, so that is why I went back and did the small group of flowers to cover the smudge.  Too much information?  Well, I bet you all have a similar story and this is mine.

ModSquad Challenge for February

The time is going fast and it is time for another challenge at the ModSquad.  I am so happy to be representing Power Poppy this year and I am having a lot of fun too.  I feel a bit of pressure to create something worthy of these designs.  This month, I decided to pick a challenge that shows texture.  That is why I titled the challenge, Show me your TEXT (ure).  I had a digital image that fit well with the new embossing folder that was a gift from my Son this year. 
Here is my card.

I just love this digital image from Power Poppy.  It was in her November release and is called Get Wool Soon.  I printed it out on white card stock and die cut it with Crossed stitched Circle from MFT.
After coloring with Copic markers, I placed it on an embossed layer that was done with a Stampin  UP Embossing Folder, called Cable Knit.  What texture it gave this card.  Great with the yarn and knitting needles.  After embossing, I used Distress Ink in Peeled Paint to sponge over it.
I used a white heavy card stock for the base.  There is a layer of blue texture card stock over that.  Some patterned paper from Every Elle, the Sorbet collection.  A strip of scallop from the blue across the bottom to separate the two papers.

Lavender amd Lace

Lavender and Lace is the new challenge at Double D challenge.  I started out wanting to use a rose for my card.  After several attempts at getting the right colors I switched it up, and used the Power Poppy stamp called, Lilac Time.  Those roses will probably be used on another card some day.  Click on the title above to see the challenge.

 I was able to used my copic markers and get the colors that I wanted for this card.

Hello die from Simon Says cut three times.  two of white and one of the gingham,

Here is a closer look at the lilac and die cut.  I use this Hello often and it lets my use a card for almost any occasion.  n over lay of vellum to soft the gingham paper.  Glossy accents on the lady bug and the Hello. Of course, some Wink of Stella on the lilacs.

I know that we were to use lace. I hope that the die cut panels make you think of the lace.

                                    Here is my card for this Challenge.

I used a gingham stencil to make the black and white gingham tag, then I die cut a similar tag from white. The flowers are cut from felt using the Roses for You from Simon Says.  The sentiment is also from Simon Says, called You Matter.  I stamped the YOU and fussy cut it and used Kool Tack foam to attach it. The white panel is splattered with Distress ink, Picked Raspberry.
