Creative Confetti - Spin the Color Wheel

A quick post for today.  Julie has another interesting challenge for us at Power Poppy.  You are to take your birth month ( mine is August) match that number to the color wheel and create a project using that color.

 

The number 8 represents the color that I need to use. 

Here is what I did with the digital print from Power Poppy called Hellebores. 

I got as close to the color that I could.  I love coloring flowers! 

Colored with Copic markers and die cut from Paper Trey Ink.  That is all!  Thanks for stopping in and I hope that you are inspired.  Thanks so much for your comments.

Seize the Birthday - Spring

Even though I have been blessed to spend the Wisconsin winters in Florida, I am still looking forward to Spring and all of the colors and flowers.

So glad to have our toppings for this challenge to be SPRING.

Creative Confetti - Thank You

I don't know where Julie gets her ideas for these challenges, but they are very inspiring for me. Some more than others.  Like this one. For this week, we are to create a thank you card that can be mass produced.  I could have gone with an easier design, but that is not my style. If I am going to send out a card, it has to be right.  I have my standards.  Lol

I thought that I would look for a stamp set that I had the matching die so that I could just color and die cut the image and that is how these cards started.  I picked out the Natural Beauties Stamp and matching die. I die cut the image first out of leftover cardstock.  I used that as a template. After stamping my images I placed the template over them and insert the die.  That makes it quick and easy to get a near perfect die cut.  Next, I picked out several different cardstock colors and design papers.  I got them all ready to put together. 
Now the fun comes in. I love to color and so for me, it is relaxing and the special touch that I like to add to my cards.  Ok, enough talking, here is what I did.

I mass produced four thank you cards in one afternoon.  

My goal was to try to make them look different. 

 For this card, I added a die called Fishtail banner from Cheery Lyn Dies. 

 This image looks like there is a lot of coloring, but the flowers are little and color up quickly.  I only used two or three copics markers in the same color family.  To make things go faster, I did all of the same colors on each of the borders at the same time. You know, all of the yellows, greens etc.

 For this one, I really changed it up as I was inspired by the design paper that I used and so I only used browns and got a more vintage look. 

This stamp lends itself to a horizontal view, but it can be used for portrait view too. Here they are all together.  This was a fun challenge and now I have a nice stash of Thank You cards.

Double D Challenge - Gingham

Team Darlene has a new challenge for you and it is an easy one.  I bet you can guess by my title what it is.  You are right, just gingham, and color, material ribbon or paper.  

Here is the mood board for you and my inspiration card that I did.

I was drawn immediately to the upper right corner of this mood board. As you can see by my card.

 I used My Favorite Things Coffee Date stamp and die.  I paper peiced the coffee pot and cup and then added some gingham leaves to the design too. The design paper is MFT Tiny Check paper and the sentiment is from MFT Perk Up stamp set. For the die that is in the background, I used Paper Trey Ink Mix and Mat die.  The leaves are Memory Box Climbing Vine die. The leftover design paper made a nice matching envelope.

Creative Confetti - Feelin' Lucky!

Feelin' Lucky and Feelin' Green I am. This is the week of the wearing of the green and celebrating the Irish.  Since taking his DNA test, my husband now cemented that fact that he is 95% Irish!  I think some of that has rubbed off on me.  I only thought about the design of this card for a little while and I knew that It would have shamrocks and it would be green. Here is how it turned out.

I printed it out on X-press paper, great for copic marker coloring.  I enlarged it quite a bit as I knew that I wanted to cut out letters.  I mean it was really big!  Then I colored up the shamrocks in greens. This card was going to be a finished 6X6 square card.  Sprayed it with glimmer mist.

After coloring, I placed the dies from Altenew Bold Alphabet where I wanted them making sure they were straight.

I die cut  the letters LUCK from the main panel and two more times from white cardstock. 

Glued them all together and placed them back in the design.  

Here is a better look  from the side.  I didn't stop there, I added Nuvo clear drops to all of the letters in the word LUCK. So you could see them better. 

Last, I put Green Nuvo drops scattered on the white.

I still had some of the shamrocks left over so I colored them up and placed them on the inside with a green border and a panel to add my sentiment later. 

Creative Confetti for this week all you need to do is choose to add a little green to your card OR use an image or sentiment that signifies luck!
