Make it Monday

Make It Monday #207: Double Partial Die Cutting

This was a fun technique and one that I have wanted to try.  So I will make this a quick post today.
Please check out the Video that Laura Bassen did to see how you can do this. I can see lots of different uses for this technique.

I made this card into a shaker card as well as the double partial die cutting.
Here are the ingredients.
GKD Jelly Bean Green card stock as a base.
Layer of blue SU card stock with the PTI cover plate Stitched die
Scatter die from PTI Shakers and sprinkles set
Spellbiner rectangle die
Oval stitched die from Lil' Inkers
Various sequins for the shaker.
I can see where I could make some improvements the next time I make a card like this.  I could have sponged the background like Laura did to make the word stand out better.  In this case, I went over it with Copic marker and Wink of Stella clear.

Thanks for stopping by and as always, I do appreciate your comments.

  3. This is super cute. I can't wait to try that technique, will do so later today. Great idea to do a shaker card, very nice. I love that Shakers and Sprinkles set, wish it was still available! Was gonna say you should enter this into Sharyn's challenge over at STV because it's got stitching. Maybe you could alter it a bit to use GKD stamps somehow. Anyway, I love it!!!!
