Powere Poppy Sparklette

I just realized that September is almost gone, and I have not made a card for a challenge other than the challenges that I host.  Well, that is over as of right now.  I got a lot of happy mail the end of August, and I have decided that I need to use it before I buy any more.  ( Ok, you are the only guys that I have told this to, so If I do buy something, don't squeal on me.)
Power Poppy is having a very different challenge during the month of September, this one is #3
Color outside the lines — whatever that means to you.
There are some great examples out there already, including a free digit that Marcella recently did.  Let It Be is perfect for what I thought of when coloring outside the lines.  Since there were a few of those already done, I used a new stamp that was one of those Happy Mails that I got.  The set is called Dream Wedding.
Here is my example of coloring outside the line.

It was hard not to color the image.
I stamped and colored the image first and then die cut it using the Frantic Stamper die, ovals and Filigree Frame #12.
I stamped the sentiment in a fine ribbon with StazOn ink.
The oval is popped out with adhesive tape.
I added the pearls, but noticed that during the photographing, they slipped.  I will fix that quickly.

Check out the challenge here
Thanks for stopping by to take a closer look.  I love our comments.

  1. Oh, Barb, your secret is mine! Ha! But I love how you've colored outside the lines on this beautiful cake, and what a gorgeous layout with this fabulous die! Love it and love the colors! Beautifully done! So how you settled back now that you are back? Hugs, sweet friend!

  2. Oh am so good at getting happy mail and then letting it sit...sometimes I think I like GETTING it more than USING This card is just so pretty and I love your take on the challenge. Such pretty, soft color, and your coloring is fantastic! And that intricate oval cover plate is gorgeous..I think I need something like that. I love it every time you use it.

  3. Beautiful, Barb. Just love the look you got coloring around the cake.

  4. You did a beautiful job of coloring outside the lines. I would find that hard to do myself as well as I would be so tempted to color that cake or decorate it somehow. But yours turned out so well I might have to try that too some time soon too.

  5. What a gorgeous card! Love the yummy cake and it is framed so beautiful with that swirly background. Beautiful card!

  6. Wow, this is gorgeous Barbara. Love the pretty die cut frame and the beautifully colored cake.

Love the itty bitty bit of coloring and the image too....yummy! That frame die is glorious--loving the hearts in the corners! Absolutely all over!!! xo~

  8. Super card! That stamp set is totally on my wish list! I like the artsy look of your card.

  9. This is so pretty! First, those pastel colors are to die for and the way you framed in the image with that beautiful oval die really made this a wonderful card! Love it my friend!
