Creative Confetti - Out of the Ordinary

Well, this is really a challenge Julie! You had me looking all over for something that I could use for this card challenge.  I found a few things that I forgot that I had and that is a good thing.  In my search, I remembered something that I purchased long before I even knew what I was doing with stamp crafting.  Maybe that is why I never used it. I will let you see for yourself.
These are some clay circles that you press into this sponge.  This is not an ordinary sponge, it was meant for this stamping.  You heat the sponge and press in the clay pieces.  See what I did here.  Then you apply ink and stamp.  Kind of an antique stamp. Maybe designed by a caveman.
On a piece of white card stock, I stamped the images with Jelly Bean green Gina K ink.  Then I filled in the white spaces with  Limeade Ice ink by PTI.  All of this talk about jelly beans and limeade make me think of Spring.  I know it is more like Fall, but this background just needed a daisy. Sometimes you just gotta go with the idea.

I die cut the background with a die from PTI called Mix and Mat Confetti and then added it to a base of Jelly Bean Green.  Using just one of the daisies from the Power poppy background stamp called Big Sexy Blooms, I colored it with my Copic markers and added it to the front.  The sentiment is a die from Penny Black. I used WOS on that.  This makes a simple birthday card which I seem to need a lot.
I added a matching envelope and now I have a really original birthday card for a friend.
I am entering this in the Creative Confetti Challenge for this week, be sure to see what you can search out for an Out of the Ordinary background

Thanks for stopping in today and for the comments that you leave.

  1. I have some of that sponge too and have not used it in ages. I love the background you made with it though and I might be inclined to get mine out one of these days too. Today however I ache too much to work with my hands.

  2. How fun is that background! Love that color of green too! Love the daisy in orange and the matching tone of color on your sentiment. Not a color combo you see a lot of but it works so well!
