Double D Challenge - Fruits and Vegetables

Here it is getting toward the end of summer.  This is the second challenge in the month of August and usually, we are thinking is of the fruits and vegetables that we get from the farmer's markets this time of year. I bet that is why Darlene pick this subject, you think?
Here is the inspiration board for you.

This is my card. I took the leap and did this card from an older stamp set, designed by Marcella Hawley.
Figs are a fruit, I checked just to make sure. Some of my older stamps have been forgotten and they are too pretty to let waste away. This one is called Dreaming of Florence and since we are now able to travel more, I have been hoping to get back to Florence or anywhere in Italy. I have been there twice, but once more, please.

After stamping, I colored this with Copic markers and colored pencils. Then I die cut it with Gina K Master Layout 2 and put that on a base of Wild Wisteria cardstock. I also used a Penny Black die called Wildwood and cut that three times and put them in the corner.  They remind me of the grapevines.
If you don't know what La dolce vita means, here is the translation. The Good Life.

Of course, there is a prize for a random winner.

Now go over to the blog for more inspiration on fruits and vegtables.

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!

  4. Love how you framed the corners... gives the card a rustic feel and adds a lot of dimension without making it hard to mail.

  6. This is outstanding Barb! Just love the addition of the table top and soft blue background, and the creative way you framed it in. Hubby saw this and was really impressed too. Always a pleasure to see what else you are up to.

  7. I don;t think I have ever tasted a fig, but if I go back to Italy I promise you I will! ;) Love that you figured out it was a fruit, supposedly tomatoes, zucchini and squash are too...seeds on the inside, weird! Love this design and your coloring! But I really, really looooove they way you framed it in, so creative, so clever, lots of dimension! This is a winner for sure!!!

  9. I love this so much. Your coloring is spot on, and I love how you have framed the image with the grape "vines". Perfect!!! Too funny that we both did something with figs, which aren't an often-used fruit. I am smiling.

  10. Beautiful, Barbara! I love this scene so much. The two tone background looks like everything is sitting on a table. Fabulous coloring as always. The corner designs are perfect and really look like grape vines!
