Seize the Birthday Challenge #253 - Winged Things

Welcome to another year of Seize the Birthday Challenge! We have some new changes for this year and I think you will be excited about them. I am, and I am ready to get some gorgeous birthday cards made.

Cathy is the host for the very first challenge at Seize the Birthday Challenge and she has picked
Winged Things.
There are many winged things for sure, but I had a new die that I was wanting to use and that is a dragonfly. I also had some new products that I recently saw on a video and purchased and I used that too. Actually, I used a lot of that.
If you are not a toppings kind of person, just make sure that it is a Birthday theme.

My card for this challenge.
If you are wondering about the video that I saw, it was one that
Chris Stokes did with Gilding Flakes. You can see it Here
I did the dragonfly and the background too.
Honey Bee Lovely Layers Bugs
Sizzix Tim Holtz embossing folder. I cut around the edge of the folder to let the base show.

I think I need that embossing folder, and cutting around the edge is GENIUS!! And then adding the metallic to the dragonfly wings is just the perfect final touch. This is spectacular!!!!

  13. Well, gosh everyone has already used all the words that came to my mind when I saw this beautiful card. First I was so struck by the unique shape of the top layer, but I also was so drawn into the colors...and you used gilded flakes!! I am sure I have some of those...so maybe I need to watch that video (thank you for sharing). Amazing card for inspiration Barbara! Thank you so much!!
