Double D Challenge - Music Theme

I made most of these last cards for challenges ahead of time as I knew that we would be traveling again. We just came back from Ireland and Scotland.  My hubby has been to Ireland, but this is my first time there. I can tell you that a 17 day bus trip is not for us. But we saw many amazing sights and met new friends. Next bus trip will be shorter. We are too old!
This is the inspiration board that Diane did for us.

This is the prize

My card made long before I knew that MFT was going out of business.
Boy I guess that I used more of their stamps and dies than I thought.

What? No flowers for this topping at the next challenge at Seize the Birthday? Well that was my first thought and it maybe yours too. But when I thought about it, what fun there is in challenging our card making capabilities. I found many things that could be the subject of my cards. I have been searching in my older stamps and dies and found this ice cream truck. I when one step further and made it a fancy fold as well. It was fun. So thank you to Jules for this challenge.

New embossing folder possibilities

I recently came upon a new to me challenge. It is called Freshly Made Sketches.
I was impressed with some of the teams designs, especially when I could use a new purchased spellbinder embossing folder. How fun is that? This card was so easy that I had to enter it as it turned out better than planned.

Let me show you.

This embossing folder has many different postage stamp images. I selected a few and colored them in and then cut them apart to make this card.
Embossing folders are Swiss dots, and Spellbinders Postage Mosaic
I used watercolor paper, you can see that the color is more ivory than the white base. I liked that.
Sentiment is Always and Forever heat embossing with gold.
( I do these in batches and have them ready to use)
A few gems and it was complete.

I will be entering this card in the Freshly Made Sketchs #698 Challenge
Go over that see what it is all about.

I am closing up my craft room for a few weeks as we are headed out for another adventure.
This time to Ireland and Scotland.

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!

Seize the Birthday Challenge #310 Use your favorite color

JoAnn is our hostess for this challenge and as you see the theme is
Use your Favorite color.
My favorite color as long as I remember has been blue, but for this challenge
I wanted to change it up a bit and I used teal.

I used a lot of supplies for this card. It is a good thing that I have a lot of supplies!
Let's start with Pink Fresh Twisted Pattern die.
I just added some stitched lines on that.
For the background,  I took out my Paper trey Ink Stencil called Open Your Heart
and used Distress oxide ink called Speckled Egg for the falling hearts.
The flowers, sentiment and leaves are from Gina K Designs
stamp and die called Delicate Flowers.
My  DieNamics die hearts was used the hold the sentiment. A few added gold pearls form GKD.
Copic markers are BG72, 74 and 78
along with G 94 and 99

If you are not doing the topping, make sure that it is a birthday theme.

Here are more inspiration for you on the blog and be sure to give some love to our Surprise Party Guest

Double D Challenge - For the Kiddos

Welcome to a new challenge at Double D. Boy, this one was a hard challenge for me I have to admit. I didn't have any of these Disney characters in my stash. Recently there have been some Spellbinders dies out there that would fit, but I did this post way before that. If I am honest, this is the second card that I made for this challenge.  I hope that you just have fun with this challenge, as that is the way that I chose to go.

Here is the inspiration board for you.

The prize for a random winner.

My card was just a kiddo card. I have a granddaughter that will love this one
I could even give it to my daughter in law.

Supplies for this card are pretty simple"
My Favorite Things stamp and die called New Best Friends Design paper from MFT
Penny Black die, curvature
Copic markers to color.
Boy, now that MFT has gone out of business, I realize the I will really miss them,
but cherish the supplies that I have.

I can't wait to see what you do for this challenge, just have fun and make a card.
The team has more inspiration for you too HERE

Seize the Birthday Challenge #309 - Food and/or Drink

Glenda is the host for this next two weeks and she has suggested that our challenge be
Food and Drink!

If you are not interested in the topping, you can do a birthday theme.
Then if course, anything goes.

This is my example for you.

No decision here, I went with drink as I had a die set that I was itching to use.
MFT has a bunch of dies and I used most of them.
Long stemware and Bar Basics for starters. Then added Drink Decor and Christmas Garnish and for the sentiment, Raise a Glass stamp from MFT. Now that they are going out of business, I really cherish this dies even more.
Gina K Master layouts 2 for the frame.

We have Karen Letchworth joining us for the next two months.
check out the Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration.
