Seize the Birthday #318 Make your own Snowflake Background

Hello Crafters,

Welcome to the start of a brand new year - 2026! We've got some wonderful challenges lined up, and I am excited to kick things off. It's Barbara, and I will be your host for the next two weeks.

 I looked up January themes on line for some inspiration.  Snowflakes was one that caught my eye. In addition, I thought a background of snowflakes would be fun. I'll call it a blizzard of snowflakes.   I hope that you have fun with it too! 

You can also enter anything goes birthday theme card. 

This is my first card. 

I use W plus 9 snowflakes dies. After cutting out the snowflakes, I used the negative as a stencil. With Gina K's Turquoise Sea ink I sponged the snowflake stencil over the background. The die for that is Pink Fresh Stitched Scallop Rectangle die. I sprinkled a lot of Picket Fence Twinkle lights on the die cut snowflakes and popped them on a rectangle of vellum. I finished with some gems from my stash.

For my second card (I could not help myself) 

I made a shaker card.

I started with Power Poppy's Handmade stamp. I used embossing powder in silver for my background. The I placed a oval die cut twice for my shaker element. This oval glitters with lots of SU Pacific Point ink and more glitter. The sentiment is from my stash.
