Hello Crafters,
Welcome to the start of a brand new year - 2026! We've got some wonderful challenges lined up, and I am excited to kick things off. It's Barbara, and I will be your host for the next two weeks.
I looked up January themes on line for some inspiration. Snowflakes was one that caught my eye. In addition, I thought a background of snowflakes would be fun. I'll call it a blizzard of snowflakes. I hope that you have fun with it too!

This is my first card.

For my second card (I could not help myself)
I made a shaker card.
I started with Power Poppy's Handmade stamp. I used embossing powder in silver for my background. The I placed a oval die cut twice for my shaker element. This oval glitters with lots of SU Pacific Point ink and more glitter. The sentiment is from my stash.
Our new Surprise Party Guest for the next two months is Helen Brammer!
We also have Stephanie Severin joining us for this challenge, as she was our overall winner from our last challenge of the year!

Barb, thanks for the fun challenge. Your card is beautiful. Love the background created from the snowflakes you die cut and those frosty looking snowflakes are so pretty. Hope you had a great Holiday.

ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful in that frosty kind of way (you know that looks great on cards, but not so much in your backyard lol) Great idea to use the negative as a stencil and I love that little wisp of Vellum! And your second card...a Shaker...you know how much I adore those! These are fabulous! Oooh ask Helen about her last name, that is my maiden name. Cool!

DeleteYou outdid yourself with this Topping Barb! Your cards are lovely! On the first card, I love the color and the centers of your snowflakes. Then for card two, I think the silver embossing looks really pretty and in your photo it appears you did some in white as well, even though you didn't. All in all too wonderful cards. I hope the gallery is full of snowflakes for this challenge.

ReplyDeleteAck, most gorgeous snowflake cards, Barb! Love how you did the backgrounds and, ohhh, that pretty shaker! Surely I have that Power Poppy snowflake, but I don't remember it, tsk. Sorry I'm so hopelessly behind. Six days, sheesh!

ReplyDeleteA double blizzard of snowflakes! I like that you used your die cut negative as a stencil, and the sparkly snowflakes look fabulous on the vellum. Great shaker card too!
