Creative Confetti Challenge - Hue to Use

I remember Hues to Use, it was a weekly challenge to use the color pallet and I did quite a few of them. For this challenge, Julie is taking us back to one of those weeks.
These are the colors we are to use.  I had a little difficulty getting the right pink and greens, but a little testing and I was satisfied.
Here is the card that I completed with these colors.

Using Big Sexy Blooms, I stamp it on white paper and colored them with Copic markers. Then I cut out part of the design on the lower right corner. I only colored three blooms with the colors from the challenge. I adhered that to a panel of previously stamped blooms that didn't stamp out perfect. There are possibilities in all mistakes.  I used some tabs to make that layer raised a bit.  The sentiment is from another Power Poppy stamp called Natural Beauties.  I die cut a frame form MFT.  I use my C3 and C4 Copic to do the shading around the blooms and finished with some colors pencils.
One Nuvo drop on the sentiment.
I will be entering this in the Creative Confetti Challenge.  Thanks so much for stopping by, I love your comments and they make my day.

Creative Confetti - Sketch it Out!

For this week at Creative Confetti, the word is Sketch it out.  See the sketch below.

Julie has given us a lot of creative licenses to do this sketch. We can change the shapes and flip it just be creative, as long as you can see our inspiration.
Here is my inspiration.
This card measures 4 1/4 by 4 1/4.  I decided to use texture for my tiny gift card instead of design paper, and a circle instead of the oval.  I introduced ribbon for the banner and a framed sentiment.

I have been making little envelopes and I made this one for this gift card.

Why stop at just the envelope. I then added a gift box.  This box does not have any glue and made very easily. The upside of this is that I used a lot of scraps of DP and ribbon.  I love this matching set.

Thank you to my friend Judy Woodland who started me on my box making journey.  The papers and scissors have been flying in my craft room lately.  What fun!  Here is the video for making this box.
The envelope was made with my envelope maker.
I used my brand new stamp from Power Poppy called Woodland Carpet and Copic markers to color.
I will be entering this in the Creative Confetti challenge for this week. You can find it Here

Double D Challenge - Birthday!

This is the inspirational board for this challenge.  Isn't it a Hoot!  Team Darlene is up front with inspiration for you and don't forget Team Diane. Here

Here is the prize!

I love the stripy background and I used it for my card.
I went back to my Paper Trey Ink Shakers and Sprinkles kit and used the dies and stamps.for this card. The image of the cake and sentiments are from Power Poppy's Party Time.

Have fun with this one.  We all need Birthday cards to send out.  Thanks for stopping in, I hope that you enjoy!  I love your comments.

Creative Confetti - Christmas in July

The new challenge this week was pretty much expected as Power Poppy has a sale on Christmas stamps, some of which are being discontinued.  Better get the ones that you want now.

Why not start a few Christmas cards now, always a good idea.

I have to tell you that this card started out waaaay different than originally planned.  I know that sometimes a project takes off with a mind of its own, but my goodness this was a 360.  The only thing that did make it to the end was keeping its pastel colors.
Here is the finished card.  It plagued me to the very end as I could not photograph for true colors. The background panel is light green.  So with that explanation, here is my card.

I had an idea to do faux torn edges and after stamping and heat embossing the holly, that is what I started to do on white card stock.  I didn't like the stark contrast of that, so I sponged a lighter shade of blue over the whole darn thing.  Could not decide if I wanted it to remain a rectangle so then die cut a stitched circle. Now it is all or nothing.  This is where the light green panel came in as I wanted to use a blue base for the card.  You know, non-traditional Christmas colors.  Now for the sentiment.  It had to go on a stitched circle as anything else would look misplaced. It just needed something else, that is why you see the bow.  This picture does not show the Crystal Effects that are on the berries.  Quite nice in real life.  Too bad you could not all come to my house to see it, you will have to use your imagination. Well, that is enough of the long wind today.  I only used the Holly Golightly stamp set, one of my favorite Christmas sets, and stitched circle dies, and a die for the bow from MFT, But my craft room looks like a storm hit it.  I must go and clean it.
So thanks for stopping in to see and hear more of how I ended up with this one.

"Flag! Your're It"

The new monthly mix challenge at Gina K Designs if called "Flag You're it! "
It is easy we are just to use colors of any flag that we pick on our project.
I decided to pick the Greek flag as we have planned a trip to Greece next year.  Yeah!

Just two colors on this flag made it very easy.
you can find the challenge HERE

I used Blue Denim ink and white card stock for this one. The stamp and die are from Sentimental Summer.  The entire panel was die cut with Spellbinder Venise Lace. I layered that panel on a blue card stock that matched better IRL than in this photo.  I also die cut one flower and the two leaves and pop them up.
I appreciate your comments and love them all.

Creative Confetti - Be Inspired!

It is good to be back in my craft room.  I spent part of the day yesterday making a couple of cards.  This one is for the Creative Challenge at Power Poppy.  It is a month long so you have plenty of time to join in.  It changes every week with a new challenge along the way.
This week we are to be inspired by one of the blogs that showed us sneak peeks for the new release.
I went right to the fun blog by Therese Calvird.  Here is her card example.

I love how the flowers drifted over the paper and made the sentiment the main focal image.
So here is what I was inspired to do.
For this card, I stamped just two of the images from the stamp set called Abundant Petals with GKD ink Soft Stone and then colored them with my Copic markers.  I took a lot of time to go back and add the shadows. I think that makes the leaves look real. The Sentiment is from Chrysanthemum XL.
I used a die to cut my panel down and used a layer of brown to frame it.  Then on to a base of ivory card stock. I am trying to use up all of my ivory as I prefer white.  I am almost there. Inside you can see a thin strip of colored paper.  That was the border that I cut off when resizing my front panel  Never waste anything!  Lol
Thanks for stopping in today and I so much appreciate your comments, each and every one.

Seize the Birthday #169 - Sunshine!

The toppings are for this challenge.

"Sunshine"

If you're not a toppings kind of  person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

Please welcome, Su Mohr our Surprise Party Guest for
July and August.
Welcome to the Party Su!
You can find her blog here.

When I saw this topping "Sunshine"  I thought of bright yellow and daisies!  I recently spent some time making background panels. I remember one that  I had made.  It had large daisies on it done in watercolor and some postage stamps with happy mail stamped.  That is the one that I started with on for my inspiration card this challenge. Then I added one more daisy.
Here is my card.

Supplies used are: Simon says A2 curved edge
Simon Says It's your Birthday
Memory box Ragged Daisy

It will be fun to see what you think of when you see the challenge title for Sunshine.
If you need more inspiration, please go to the Seize the Birthday blog. This is lots of talent there.
Thanks for stopping and leaving a comment.  I adore them.

Double D Challenge - Tropical

It is team Diane's turn to Wow you with their inspiration for this challenge.
Here is the inspiration for you.

This is the Prize

We have hibiscus flowers in our backyard and they are so beautiful  I need to go no further for my inspiration.
 Are they not gorgeous?
This stamp is Gina K Designs Stately Flowers 4.  The die cut that it is stamped on is called Wrapped Scalloped Rectangles by Memory Box. I have colored them with my Copics, using the masking technique.  Then I drew lines and colored them in with black marker.  The splatters were done with GKD Tiny Textures, after coloring, I like a more controlled splatter.
Then I used a brush to put some gold watercolor on it.  I wish that you could see it.

Here you can faintly see the gold.

I hope to see you as an entry in this challenge.
Please check out all of the inspirational cards for your motivation at Double D

Happy July 4th!
