Making your stamps go further.

One of the things that I wanted to do this year was to make better use of my current stamps and digis. Power Poppy had a Christmas release recently and I took a look at those stamp sets to see how creative I could be.   It did not take long for me to zero in on the Bear from The stamp set Forest Fellas.  Sometimes you need a Valentine card that is not all gooey for a masculine card.

This set is available in digi and polymer HERE

I colored him up with Copic markers and fussy cut it out.  Added the image to a base of gray card stock and some designer paper and a fishtail tag that I made to look like wood. Then a couple of small hearts and one large one and I called it done.

Seize the Birthday - Transparency or Vellum #206

Welcome to another great challenge here at Seize the Birthday!

Our "Topping" option this time is...

I think that you can see that I chose to use Transparency on my card.  This is a good picture of it as it is usually hard to photograph.
Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!
If you are not a toppings kind of person.

I started with a die that I love and used often and it is called Anajas Square.  I die cut it so that it would be a top folding card.  The cut out in the middle has the transparency in it with the sentiment heat embossed on it. If you heat emboss gently waving your heat gun over it will not warp. Then I added the lily from The Greetery.  The sentiment is from Balloon Bouquet also The Greetery. If you are wondering about the gold frame, I just used my gold pen for that. Hmmm, maybe I should have used silver.

You really need to check out the blog to see what the rest of the team has for you this challenge.

Double D Challenge - Flowers in Containers

It is time for another great challenge at Double D.  Darlene is our host and look at the inspiration board that she made for us.

I could not resist using this new digital stamp from Power Poppy called Garden of Gratitude. It has boots with poinsettia, amaryllis, and hellebore.  I colored them in spring colors. This card would be a thank you or a birthday card or a what ya doing?

On a base of gray cardstock, I used a piece of design paper at an angle.  Then the printed out digital stamp is a larger size.  This is a 6 X 7 finished card. The image is colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Pink Fresh called Lush Greenery. The image is die-cut with a Crimped Frame form the Greetery.

Look at the prize that you can win if you enter a card.  It is a random winner so everyone has a chance.

Be sure to check out the blog where you will find the rest of the team and their take on this fun challenge.

Pure Fragrance and Volumes of Beauty

Hello and welcome to a Blog Hop from Power Poppy Stamps. These two digi's were designed by Marcella for Kit and Clowder originally and now are available to you as digital images. They are some intricate beauties to color up. Take a look at these images colored by Alyce at Kit and Clowder.

Such an opportunity to color these flowers and to learn how to color a clear bottle or vase.

This would make a wonderful card for a special occasion.
These digital are available on Power Poppy.

I will never color as good as Alyce, but I can try.
Here are the cards that I made with these digital images.

I printed this one and colored it just like it is. It is a little larger than an A2 card as I find it easier to color the images. I used a die called Stitched Scallop Rectangle from Christmas Craft. Layered it on a base of blue card stock. I have long since mailed out this card to a friend.  I don't remember what Copic's I used.

For this card, I found that I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the images.  This is the beauty of digital. I centered in on the part that I wanted to color and just printed that part. On this day, that was enough for me.  This makes it possible to have many different looks from this one digital image.

A closer look at the rose. or it could be a peony.

Here are the  Copics I used on this card. I also used a spellbinder die called Scalloped Borders two. I have never used it in this way and I rather like it. The design paper is from my stash. The stencil in the background is from Memory Box called Texture Distressed Grid and the Distressed Oxide Tumbled Glass. There is a thin border of platinum embossing powder around the image.

Seize the Birthday - Snowy background #205

It is the start of a new year and I am sure that you are glad as I am, to see 2020 gone.  I am your host of the first challenge in 2021 and I picked a Snowy Background.  Even though I am in Florida and we do not see snow, even in 2020, I like the cards that are made with snow in mind. I love snow, just somewhere else. I am sure that there is a winter birthday person that deserves a special birthday card.
 I have several.

If you would rather not make a snowy background you can still enter in the fun.
Just keep it a Birthday Theme.

Here is the card that I had fun making.

I practiced my splatters for this snowy background and then added this cute Bundled Buddies from Penny Black.  I used my Copic markers and a white gel pen. The sentiment is a die from
Simon Says called, It's You Day.  For the snow that she is standing on, I used acrylic paint in white and layered it to look like she is standing in a drift.  Love it!

A little closer look at this cutie.  It makes me smile.

Double D Challenge - Cupcakes

Wow!  This is the 5th anniversary of the Double D Challenge. Unbelievable how time has gone so fast!  But when you are enjoying yourself, it does.  On to 2021 and new challenges both in paper crafting and in the world we live in.

Since it is our 5th anniversary, it is appropriate to have a celebration with cupcakes. Diane is our hostess and here is our inspiration board for this challenge.

Here is my card.

Boy I had to search for this image as I colored it back in September.  I finally found it in my files and it is a Tiddly Ink digital image.
This was colored with Prismacolor pencils and I love the whipped cream topping.

Check out the Double D Team blog for more inspiration. There is a prize for a random winner.
