Our "Topping" option this time is...
If you are not into using the toppings, just make sure it is a birthday card.
Cathy is the host for this challenge and she wants us to use a stencil for the toppings.
We have a Surprise Party Guest for the next two months. She is Carol McFarland. You can find her blog Here
Here is the card that I did.
I made a stencil from this layering die below by cutting them from cardstock
I used each layer on another piece of cardstock. You can see the colors that I used. The first layer has Gina K Designs White Glitz Glitter Gel that I mixed a little Jelly Bean Green ink. You really only need white as you can make any color that you want. The next layer was Turquoise Sea sponged on.
The final layer is Jelly Green Ink sponged on.
Placed them on a large slimline card and added a black strip of cardstock. The sentiment is preprinted from Simon Says Stamps. This is still a flat card, easy for mailing in a business envelope.
On the inside, I used bits that I cut off from the ends.
Make sure that you stop by the blog too.

Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!
Pretty colors and I love how you finished the inside with the leftover bits. Good tip on the glitter gel. I bought two colors, and I should have bought white. I love the bit of sparkle it added to your card.
ReplyDeleteVery creative! I have been die cutting that stencil material and making lots of stencils myself--no time to actually craft so this helps! Love the colors and your use of the glitz gel! That die set is awesome! Pretty card!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! With the colours and the scalloped edges, they look like succulents to me. GinaK Glitz Gel is the best, isn't it? I really like the sentiment and how you fancied up the inside of the card, too.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, this is really stunning. Your color choices are so pretty and the added glitz is really nice!
ReplyDeleteWay to get more from these dies! The stenciling worked awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow,this turned out awesome and what a creative way to cut them out too!
ReplyDeleteYour diecut stencils worked out beautifully Barbara, I need to remember to do this!! Love the colours and how you used the offcuts in side too, Cathy x

ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to get more out of our dies. This is amazing. I guess I have lots of wishes...ROFL!
ReplyDeleteA Creative way to use those dies. I have done that in the past and need to do it again. Your slimline card looks great and I like how you used the bits on the inside also.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative idea to use layering dies to make your own stencil! The slimline card looks gorgeous! Love the colors too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to get extra mileage from your dies, Barbara! Good tip about colouring glitz gel, I never think to do that.
ReplyDeleteAmazing card, Barbara! I love the colors - even the colored glitz gel - and the fact that you've used these dies as something other than dies - great use of them!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - you are brilliant! What a fabulous idea. Such a beautiful card.
