Seize the Birthday #230 Embossing

Welcome to another fun Seize the Birthday Challenge.  This is the challenge that will make your stash of birthday cards grow leaps and bounds.  You will always have one to mail out even last minute. You will always be remembered as the one who gives beautiful cards to family members and friends.

I am the hostess for this challenge these last two weeks of January 2022! It is an easy one.
I chose EMBOSSING for our topping.

There are so many ways to emboss. There is dry embossing. ( embossing folder)
Heat embossing with powder.
If you cannot think of a way, just go to Jennifer McGuire on Youtube and type in Embossing.  There are a ton of ideas there. I sure hope that you use the topping on your card.

But if you don't just make sure that it is a birthday card.

Supplies for this card are  Altenew Enchanting Vines Embossing folder. I inked up one side with clear embossing ink and used Zing Blue Metalic powder.  This was done in GKD Ocean mist card stock.  I included a small border on this panel with GK Master Design dies. The lily and palms are The Greetery Botanicuts Lily and Palm. I die cut two circle dies from white cardstock from the Memory Box Wrapped Stitched circle dies and put vellum in the center. That is where I embossed the sentiment from GKD Birthday Wishes stamp.

I added some blue gems by the sentiment and it was done. I wish that you could see the
detail on this card.

Double D - Blue and White winter

Welcome crafty friends to another fun challenge with a prize at Double D.  Darlene is our host and just look at this inspiration board she has made.
I was drawn to the upper right and that gorgeous blue jay.
I knew exactly what I would do for this one.
Here is the card that I made

This is a digital image from Power Poppy, called Season of Serenity. I was inspired by the upper right square.  I printed this out and used my Copic markers to color him up. Then I splattered with white gouache and perfect pearls powder. A few sparkly gems from my stash. I wanted to use this die from Altenew called Diamond Frame cover die.  I originally wanted to use it behind the Blue Jay, but I love this different look.  What do you think?

A close-up of the Blue Jay peeking at you.

The Prize for a random winner.

Now head over to Double D to see what the team is up to.

Mod Squad Challenge - Handmade background focal

My friend Judy Woodland is the hostess for this two week challenge and I am in! It certainly sounded like fun and I needed some encouragement to get some crafting done.  Goodness, it has been over a month for me. The challenge is to make a background with your stamps and then only include a greeting.  Judy referred to a You Tube video that she watched recently. She refers to that on her blog Here. It is called a one sheet wonder and you can make several cards with this technique.

My first try was too crowded with images, so I tried it again and it worked better using one a few stamps. Here is what I got.
\
This is the card that I am entering in this challenge, but I wanted to show you the others that I got from using this technique.

Inks from Gina K, Tomato Soup, Sweet Corn, Grass Green
The stamp set, Love & Prayers ( this is an oldie, but goodie rubber stamp)
Gina K Master Layouts dies 1 and 2.

Seize the Birthday #229 Blue and Gray

Hello and welcome to a new challenge for the year 2022!
Colleen is our hostess for these two weeks and she has chosen
Blue and Gray

The topping is optional just remember to make your entry a Birthday card.

For this card, I decided to use my much ignored Gina K Designs Wreath builder. My idea was to build a wreath and fill the center with a butterfly. The butterfly is GKD Fluttering fall layering Stencil Bundle.

For the sentiment, I used Taylored expressions sentiment stamp and die.  I found these sentiments to be so darn easy.  The stamp makes many sentiments at once and then the die cuts them out. I have plenty of these sentiments for future use.
I did a partial embossing folder on the bottom of swiss dots and added some ribbon and nuvo drops and wink of Stella. This was a good way to make the square while panel into a A2 card.
