Welcome crafty friends to another fun challenge with a prize at Double D. Darlene is our host and just look at this inspiration board she has made.
I was drawn to the upper right and that gorgeous blue jay.
I knew exactly what I would do for this one.
Here is the card that I made
This is a digital image from Power Poppy, called Season of Serenity. I was inspired by the upper right square. I printed this out and used my Copic markers to color him up. Then I splattered with white gouache and perfect pearls powder. A few sparkly gems from my stash. I wanted to use this die from Altenew called Diamond Frame cover die. I originally wanted to use it behind the Blue Jay, but I love this different look. What do you think?
A close-up of the Blue Jay peeking at you.
Love that beautiful diamond die that frames out your majestic blue jay perfectly! And splatters! Who doesn't love snowy white splatters? :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your card Barbara, the Blue Jay behind the cool frame is beautiful, now I have to go and check that frame out! I have about a dozen blue Jays at my feeders tossing all the seed they don't want out on the snow and squawking up a storm, they certainly are a noisy bird but so beautiful to look at!
ReplyDeleteI THINK this is GORGEOUS! I love how the frame draws your eye in for a peek at the beautiful scene behind it! Love the blue jay image and you've colored it perfectly! Awesome inspiration my friend! Thanks and here's hoping you have a fabulous day ahead!
ReplyDeleteI think it is genius to use it on top like a frame. Such a different and unexpected look. Coloring is so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card, and attaching the focal behind that frame is GENIUS!!! Isn't that an adorable blue jay image? I love the way you have colored him, and adding the touch of red in the berries just completes the whole look.
ReplyDeleteyour coloring on the blue jay is beautiful. and the frame makes your card spectacular. thanks as always for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis is just spectacular, Barbara! I love the blue jay image and your coloring is always amazing. The AN cover plate is amazing. I may need to add that to my stash.
ReplyDeleteHow utterly beautiful, Barbara! I'd forgotten about this image. You did an amazing job with the coloring, and I think the die frames it beautifully without covering anything up. Love it totally!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and gorgeous design as always. xx
