As the weather gets cooler and we think of warm drinks named pumpkin spice and baked cookies and pies and all things Halloween, this is the best title for a challenge.
Orange and Black
Darlene is the host for this challenge and here is the mood board for more inspiration.
I can think of so many things that are orange and black that I just needed the colors
to do this card for you.
The supplies for this card are from many companies. The die HUGS is from PTI and is old. I am sure that it may not be available. It has these great flower cut-outs that I placed orange card stock behind. Next I die cut Gina K Fancy Feathers. One in orange and one in black and off set them a little. The background design paper is from PTI and is old too. I also used Master Layouts 2 from Gina K.
I love adding matching envelopes to my cards as they look so special.
Here is a view to see how I added dimension to the HUGS.
Of course, there is a prize for a random winner of the challenge.
Please get to the BLOG to see all of the inspiration from the team.
Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments!
Beautiful and creative fall-ish card!! A pretty mix of paper and dies, isn't it great to use some of those older supplies we have?
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful in orange and black, who'd a thunk that you can't do anything but a Halloween card in these colors?!? I adore that HUGS die cut, isn't it fabulous??? Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, classy and elegant! You really used this color theme well. I love the matted sentiment and those feathers are fantastic. Now I need to find them...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful use of the theme colors! LOVE your overall design and the coordinating envelope does make it special ... well done and awesome inspiration to us all! Thanks
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo pretty, Barb! I love the oldies. The hugs die is really gorgeous. I was assuming the feathers were part of it, but then I read that it's just your clever arrangement making them look right at home. Pretty with the orange behind the letters. Your leafy paper was all it needed to turn it into a fall card. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love this, Barb. That background patterned paper is so pretty, and it shows off the focal/greeting perfectly. A really great take on the challenge. The die cut feathers are beautiful, love that you offset them, and the HUG greeting looks fabulous with the orange peeking through. So stinkin' brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely - and clever with gorgeous colours and fabulous design, love it ♥
ReplyDeleteLovely fall papers (I have those too!) and beautiful silhouette die cuts over the paper! xx
